In the original Tomahawks and Burton are the best counters. Comanche spam from 2 airfields can be good too but USA needs to be in a very good economical position to make this transition, a few don't help when GLA mixes in quads. Laser is kinda forced to go Comms as it has no Toms.

@Heartless Angel Ketsueki They outrange most stuff, they're faster than anything, they're highly effective against whatever would counter them that's as fast as them and have nothing to fear from infantry who they can easily outrun. They're cheap, they're great against all buildings and vehicles. There's nothing to be done beyond catching them in an airstrike if that even survives approaching them.

@Heartless Angel Ketsueki the buggies only feel overpowered because there's no proper counterplay which is not the buggies fault but on the dev not understanding the interaction and not putting them in. If you did play you would know that the tomahawk doesn't one shot a scorpion tank like it does in this video and that the only reason the range is short is because the tomahawk missile actually tracks the target unlike how the v3 rocket in RA3 doesn't track, hence why the shorter range and the angled firing arc so that it can actually hit the target

To be fair, they didn't implement things like laser defense (Paladin, Avenger) for USA and ECM for China which counter the buggy here... so... yeah... it's probably OP until they get those units into the game.

ZH is an execution heavy game, a US player can win a game with just one group of Rockvees, yes, and a GLA player will often make lots of Quads, stuff them into tunnels, while they harass their opponent with technical raids, as well as overpowered call-ins, but there is a lot of attention that goes into managing those things, if they are just played straight without micro, they will die. What may seem like a winning strategy in the hands of one person can fall flat on its face in the hands of another. The one flaw of Evolution is that it's kind of a spammy game? Take the rocket buggies for example, instead of a group of five, carefully micro'd Rockvees, you got like 23 rocket buggies, that are straight up expendable. If not the buggies, there's China Overlord spam and such, it's less about individual units having a big impact as they come in, and more about snowballing, mashing armies against each other. I believe that this is what Sybert means about depth, Gen Evo is closer to C&C Remastered than the original Gen.

It's just that alot of ZH players play USA very robotic. Mixing USA armies can actually be super strong. China actually requires very methodical play and alot of mixing in vanilla already. GLA offers quite some variety too. ZH is absolutely amazing on high level.

The Vindicator makes little circles when idle. It's funny because the Airbase has a tiny runway in the middle, but the planes come up directly from the hangers.
