Great trick with the single pixel Constants to Layout. Just a thought: I don't think the Layout actually creates a gradient. The gradient comes from the Lookup's "Input Smoothness" parameter set to "Interpolate Pixels". Love the energy and editing in your videos!!!

How are you getting that gradient in layout? is there something your not showing?

set the constant resolution to 1x1 so interpolate pixels is noticeable and looks like a gradient
