in my opinion witness was an experimental album that was not bad at all. people just hated it because of the poor single choices and her hair being cut. which is really sad. but i’m glad she’s back with yet another great song. i’ll be blasting this song a lot for sure!

I really wished people appreciated Witness more. Witness was a different album, but I enjoyed it a lot. Katy called Witness purposeful pop, and that album has messages that are meaningful.

This is my first time seeing Katy's video and hearing this song, and then some of them saying "i dont get the symbolisms" and "this is creepy. Like this looks like a cult". I think thats the point? Like i think the story is supposed to be like "I was living a sad life in search of something and found this so-called amazing person and i believed in and loved them and now i realised theyre not who they say they are but I can't leave im in too deep." Like the ppl that got out of cults, that's kinda a retelling of their story but lighter and in a pop love song. 😂 im here for it.

I think this is a promising return for Katy. I was a huge fan of hers during her Prism era and then she kinda lost me during half of Witness, but now I can say I'm really back as her fan. Excited to see what she will release next!
