Abraham Sacrifices His Son! Why Did God Tell Abraham To Sacrifice His Son Isaac in Genesis 22 is the question answered which is asked frequently.
In Genesis 22 we see God say to his friend Abraham to take Isaac whom he loves to the land of Moriah and sacrifice him on one of the mountains he told him. So do this mean God wanted Abraham to kill his son? We discuss why this happened.
We go on to discuss does God like or want child sacrifice/human sacrifice and we also discuss another scenario in the Bible which people claim means God wanted people to undergo human child sacrifice like gentile, pagan nations.

This is the most talked about scripture in the Bible when it comes to people claiming God wants human sacrifice. Here is some clarification. Do you think God wants people to offer human sacrifice to him? Leave your response below...

Yeah, a cruel trick at the very least. Why does god seem to value blind loyalty in those who are obedient to him? "My god would never ask me to sacrifice my son" is what Abraham could have said, if he wasn't a blindly obedient thrall.

Archie Steel it was not a “cruel trick”, as the Bible says, Abraham knew God at worse, would raise him from the dead, because God’s promise to Abraham was contingent on Isaac being alive. Do you see how the Bible in Genesis, is preparing everyone for Jesus? You may not believe at right now, but you can see the symmetry I outlined in the video right?

@@InThyWord Yeah i can see the symmetry you've pointed out. My thing is though, believers seem to find ways to reconcile barbarism because its the word of god, and can't be wrong. This is clearly barbaric, and would be considered severe child abuse if it happened today. But its not just that, think of the conquest of Canaan, and the massacres carried out. The blatant sexism that makes women second rate citizens. The rape and enslaving of people from other tribes that is clearly sanctioned by god. There is no historical context or justification for stories like these, they were wrong then and they'd be wrong today. This is the root of the problem for myself and any unbeliever who reads this book. If you're not a believer already, its easy to see this. I just don't understand how Christians say that "that was different/ it was a different culture then"?
