My sincere condolences to anyone who missed the 80's. This was real music!

When my daughter was at school she was given some English homework to write a ghost story. She was struggling and came to me for some help. I used the inspiration of the Home(s) by the sea and showed what I meant by writing the story of the abandoned haunted home (by the sea) that a burglar broke into and was attacked by the ghosts. The cheeky little thing handed it in - apparently I got an A+ 😊 Can hardly wait for next week...

It was released in 1983. I listened to it in 1988 when I was in high school. Now 2024, I'm still listening to it. So... i'm old enough 😊😅

I was born in 82. I have such vivid memories of my mom blasting this album on the stereo when i was a kid. It is amazing. I still get it in my head now as a 40 yr old. This is true art in music and we all know it doesn't happen anymore these days... or you gotta really look for it

I had a beautiful girlfriend who bought me this on the day it was released I wish I could back and relive those days!

I really like this song, especially the parts where he sings, "Sit down, sit down..." The sound of his voice on those parts are so impactful. I get goosebumps.

I drove some of my family peeps near crazy with this one. The volume control on my hi-fi would mysteriously creep up and the sounds from my bedroom become nothing but this track much to the annoyance of anyone else who was for that 12 mins or so trying to talk or listen to other things elsewhere in house.. Always a favourite of mine from when I first heard it as an 8-10 year old til now... Thanks for posting this masterpiece. To me this track is simply amazing 😊

❤️❤️ never knew I loved this song until I saw Genesis in concert this year. I would like to wish Phil Colins all the health in the world. His son was incredible, but I couldn’t help but feel sad or that it was bittersweet- phil seemed to have an ailment. See them in concert while you can. Only thing I wished was that Phil’s personal music along with Peter Gabriel’s were included. I missed some great shows due to my age and would have loved all of Phil’s music through the years in one show. Thank you for your time and performance - I wish I went sooner.

This is the first album that introduced me to rock / prog when I was about 6-7. I picked it out of my dads CD collection because of the cover art. Best decision I ever made.

For some reason, this has been a particularly moving song for me. Never could put my finger on why? Been through the wringer the last 3 years, but it just hit me. The spirits are all the pain and emotions I've repressed over my life. I'm in a new " place" now, but those "spirits" haven't gone away. And they will finally have their day... Things that go to make up a life indeed... Praise God that He makes all things new! There I WON'T stay for the rest of my days!

58 haven't listened to this album since 1983. I remember driving to South Lake Tahoe with my best friend and her boyfriend. 911 Red Porsche in the back. Snow, Goldschläger, great friends and memories we only share. No pictures. Take me back....
