Genius Idea for Hanging String Lights (from Quntis) in your yard with seamless put up and take down!

Don't use giant buckets of concrete or other tacky solutions. With this method, you can put up string lights anywhere. It's stable and elegant and when you want to take them down, you wont even need a ladder. There will no sign that you had lights or poles up until you are ready to use them again!
These lights are from high quality string lights from Quntis and will last a long time. The bulbs are plastic and not glass, which prevents breakage. They can be purchased here: amzn.to/2TiXr1S

Great idea. I was thinking that you can hang Christmas lights for the holidays. Halloween lights etc. For parties you could tie party balloons or banners for special occasions. The ideas are endless. Thanks for making this video.❤️

Great idea. But I’d like mine to be up all year round. This may not work for that purpose and the winds here in CT are just too strong. Indeed great idea for summers only.

Did you end up using the PVC for vertical or did you use the metal pipe?

Rather than using the metal vertical pipe could you use PVC pipe or will it be too flimsy? Maybe if we went up to 2 inch pipe in the ground in a 1 1/2 vertical?

All PVC pipe, all galvanized pipe and all conduit comes standard in 10 foot lengths. In this video, she said "pipe," however, conduit is a much better option as its cheaper and much lighter. Hooks come a wide variety. Just buy thw style hook that is long enough to go all the way thru the conduit so it can be tightend with a nut. Don't over think this simple project.

My area is 18’ x 15’. You used 1 1/2” and 1” in your other video. You use 1” and 3/4” in this video. Which do you suggest would hold up better? Thanks

Great video!! Also saw the video form last year that used the 1.5in PVC and 1in pipe but the 1in PVC and 3/4in pipe should work just as well. I have a 18 x 20 concrete slab patio I'm going to hang lights similar to yours and about the same height on three sides. I noticed you have a stop pin at the bottom of the poles. Did you buy stock 10 foot pipes and use a stop pin so 1 foot of the pole is in the ground and 9 feet above? Each 10 foot pipe is about $33 and using 7 will be about @230 so before I buy them all I want to make sure I have the lengths correct. Thank you, John

Don’t go for the smaller pipes (i.e. 3/4” pipe), unless they are really close together. My poles were 22 feet apart and bent really bad using conduit. Ended up using 1 1/4 inch conduit pipe and 1 1/2 inch PVC. It supported my light string which was heavy with mosquito repellent jars on light set. Tiki brand light set.

In one of your other videos on string lights you said to use galvanized conduit for the poles. This video looks like you used PVC pipe. Which one has worked best for you?

What kind of hook + hex nut is that? I was at lowes and couldn’t find anything like it and couldn’t get anyone to help me. All the ones I found have the closed loop rather than the open hook.
