Cool, now do the second and third coats to hide that giant wall blister you just made. Because yes, anyone can do a rough edged 3/16" thick first coat pack-out. But correct and flawlessly invisible drywall repair is all about how well you finish and sand the second and third coats. And don't even think about painting until you have primed.

Too much work... just plaster around the hole then cover it up with piece of newspaper and plaster over and sandpaper it it'll be 5 minutes
