This would be a brilliant Sports Tourer with a brilliant B8, if not for some unfortunate circumstances. This engine is a real gem in the world of motorcycles, it is practically the legendary Cosworth B8, only in miniature.

I remember when this was in all the magazines. It's absolutely beautiful, especially the first prototype.

nr 750 was a v4, judging by the other errors in the commentary i suspect AI is involved making these videos
@Qassu782 ай бұрын
All commentary on this channel is by AI judging by the lack of capability to read abbreviations correctly. There are also some other clues pointing towards all AI channel.

Was built as a V8,reason it's an oval piston,was Honda was trying to cheat the rules, had V8s been allowed, the NR range would have been V8s

Weight is surprisingly light at 200 kg , but engine sound is just normal -- with a V8 engine I'm sure people expected something special .
@davidbrayshaw35292 ай бұрын
I'm pretty sure that it was the silencer that was killing the sound.

Technically yes, but that was because regulations wouldn't allow for a V8. They just eliminated the wall between every two adjoining cylinders, thus obtaining four oval cylinders each having an oval piston, two connecting rods and 8 valves.

There's been a few specials. Obviously by Allen Millyard, and there was a guy back in the 70s slung a Rover V8 into a featherbed frame. And of course the ludicrously impractical Boss Hoss.

@2:27 That looks nothing like anything in Star Wars. It looks like a boat on top of a out-of-place V8.

Good looking bike ! ! Way to much money, But an electric bike with battery's looking like a v 4,6 or 8 is something I have been dreaming of. My DIY disability scooter with four 40 volts drop in yard tool battery's on each side is as close as I've gotten. Well under 1K$ and able to go 37mph but 12" front wheel isn't much fun only lets you know how unsafe that speed is.

Can somebody explain what GP or GB or whatever this guy says, is? I'm familiar with HP and KW, but can't figure out what he is talking about.
@Qassu782 ай бұрын
I have come to conclusion this "guy" is an AI reading a script written by itself. It's getting better on every video but little things like that "gp", "v-shaped V8" and the way it still reads some abbreviations aren't human errors. Watch some older videos and you'll hear what I mean :'D

There's another supposed to be V8 bike, from Norton, named "Nemesis", and it said that it was supposed to put then new released Suzuki Hayabusa into a laughing stock.
@martinduddridge329Ай бұрын
The Norton Nemesis is Not suppposed, but real. Currently being rebuilt or more importantly being remade “properly” by Allen Milliard. Videos are on his KZfaq channel. Worth watching.

After the restyling it became a great looking bike. Maybe a bit too conservative after the first one bombed but nothing wrong it either. Added facts: The first drawing by Morebidelli came about when he was getting bored during a holiday (I know the feeling). The real money indeed always came from producing wood machining equipment. So Moribidelli was a savvy entrepreneur from the start. The most important reason the V8 was not built is that it became part of a business package he sold on. He already knew it would not be profitable to build it in series. No news there! 😉

@francislutz80272 ай бұрын
Why not? At least you can buy a Boss Hoss, ride it, find parts for it and have it street legal. Can't make a bike street legal if there isn't a demonstration bike to deliver to the Public Highway Officials to perform their tests on.
