THANKS!!!!! I have been performing since 1995 on all the flagship keyboards from Yamaha. I always thought that was the meaning with them until I saw that a lot of prople actually PLAYED the melodies. 🌹⭐️💋😂❤️

Thank you... I want to sing with my Genos 2 but when I start singing Evmux audio doesn't come out excellent like yours. I have my microphone plugged into a Yamaha MG10XU Mixer. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hey Man! It’s easy, just make a “hanging mat” lower the mids a bit. Especially the 350-550 hz range ⭐️🌹

Optimally it should be more or less as close to linear as possible, but it really depends on your sound system, room and ears. If the Genos doesn't sound good "out of the box" on your system at a moderate normal listening level without heavy EQ'ing you need a better system. Thats the problem with having a general good sound overall is not achieved by using the master eq of the instrument. Say, I have a couple of Yamaha HS8 and the Genos with flat Master (compressor off) sound fabolous on those at home plus on Headphones. And when I rehearse with our band ... it sounds like shit .. why can that be .. yes you got it Our rehearsal speakers is shit 😄 and the sound isn't even close to be "fixable" with the 3band eq on the mixer. But at least I know it sounds fine on our PA system

Generally check your system on a HiFi or Studio Monitor system. Keyboards and vocals should be sounding good on these (take care with the dynamics on HiFi systems)

The EV solution definetly good. It depends on your budget but even much cheaper 12 or 15" 2 or 3 way powered speakers is generally good quality today. Just listen to them first before you buy. Only concern I have in the lower budget end is how much "punch" you get for your money. Don't be fooled by the sometimes very optimistic power ratings of the class D power amps they use today. Some of the amps in the well known PA brands is absolutely great, but the cheaper ones even they promise eg 300+150w can some times be delivering a lot less "real" power than a 30 year old 100w clas a/b amp. But most of us have moved on from carrying a 100kg rack of amps to power a tower of Speakers. Personly If I still played solo jobs I would pay the extra for one of those very small footprint active sets with 1 or 2 not too large subs and small tops that fits into eg a station van or SUV

You only cover the most basic settings. Dependent on what voice people have you really have to go into the details of the different harmony presets and adjust each vocal part. It really takes a while to learn to use the harmonizer optimal. Eg you have a pretty high vocal Tenor/sopran ? .. so when you have those "above" parts the Genos pretty easy gets to sound like a Smurf choir. I have a pretty low voice (bass bariton) so I have to choose primary "above" parts and primary open or wide harmonies, whatever it calls it or the choir gets way to cramped in the low range. People should learn how to fine tune the harmony presets to fit their voice. It's very hard to give people a "one settings" for it all. People have to practice and learn how the the harmonizer sounds best for their voice. Also the default settings in the instrument how fast it detects a vaocal note and how stable the harmonizer follows your voice is not even close to optimal settings, which is of cause also individual how you like it to be. There is a ton of settings on how stable the harmonies is and people should really put just a little auto tune to their lead dependent how good your intonation is. There is also settings for adding vibrato to both your lead and the harmonies. If used subtle in can enhance your vocal quite a bit if you don't have the natural "vibrato" of a trained voice. I remember my old vocal teacher always got a strange look in the eyes when you said vibrato .. "There is no such thing as vibrato" he said "it comes when you learn to use your belly correct to support your vocal ! !" 😄

Very True! Unfortunately it’s hard to get people to stay and look for such a long time that it would take to go through everything..but you are of course right… and that is the whole meaning of all my videos…. Dare to sing…. Don’t be afraid!

Lots of people don't have even half an hour to stay focused to go into details of programming, and there really is much details in most of the "effect" settings of the Genos. Sometimes I wish Yamaha put the same ammount of depth into the actual sound generation edits. God help if it should rival their Synth segment 🙃
