Some people get burned out because they just don’t like the game. If you like the game, play it regardless of what the community says, if you actually enjoy it. And don’t force yourself to play, because you end up complaining about everything

I started playing Genshin in version 2.5, and I kid you not, I literally log in every single day since then, that's how much I love this game. There were quite a bit of story-oriented non-gacha games that I played before Genshin which I liked, but since starting Genshin I didn't really feel the desire to play other games("Consistently". I still play other games, but not nearly for as long a session as I am with Genshin), because this game just has everything that clicks with me, the story is great, the lore is very deep and exciting to explore, I love the music, exploration and characters in this game AND it's not an issue for me that they are taking their time with implementing endgame because I know I'm gonna play the game for a long time because of other aspects anyway, so whenever we get to true endgame, it's just gonna be a bonus for me rather than a priority. I know that I'm an exception and I'm very lucky to like everything this game has to offer, and I hope other people can find their own "perfect game", but for me it's Genshin hands down. I now realize that this is quite possibly my favorite game of all time and I can't be more grateful that I'm able to play it. If you read this hell of an essayge, thank you and I hope you have a nice day!

I only started at 2.6 patch, but it’s just become daily routine for me to play at least 30 mins. Many people said that they suffer on being burnout in playing, lucky me I never experienced it since I myself don’t push myself too hard on playing. There are pros and cons if you start genshin this year, pros you have lot of content to do and prolly easy to level up, one of the cons I hate is that theres many quest and story that you probably wont be experienced since theyre usually in time limited.

2:11 Why is this cutscene still giving me goosebump every time I watch it. XD Anyway, this is probably one of the best videos for those who've been wondering if they should try to play Genshin or not. It's packed with enough info of pros and cons of Genshin in 2024. Gotta save it to playlist and share it to anyone that may consider on playing this game. A bit OOT, Genshin is a whole immersing world for those who like the game aesthetic and worldbuilding. The music is one of the main factors in making the immersion so great and this followed by the game art direction and details. So, to anyone who like fantasy game setting with DEEP lore, this game is pretty much for you. As a player who played since launch, it's the best mobile game in 2020, and it's still the best anime stylized game I've play currently.

Sometimes I just like to run around and gather flowers while listening to music or go through sections of the map I haven't been to a while, while enjoying new and sometimes wonky team comps. Like the chasm, which feels so deep and big when you journey from top to bottom. Or sometimes I set myself arbitrary goals, like getting 1000 of every type of wood. To me, its the perfect game for casual and satisfying play and I enjoy it since I started, way back in 1.1😊

My biggest regret is not trying the game at launch or atleast a few days after launch. Been playing since around Inazuma and used to squeeze as much content as I could in the shortest amount of time, but nowadays I've been limiting myself to taking things more slowly, usually just to collecting achievements from daily commissions and finishing up encounter points for the day through quests or procedural map exploration, and maybe doing a bit more here and there every now and then. It's much less stressful and overwhelming this way cause I'm not pushed to keep up with the latest content and there's always more for me to do. Plus, I like the feeling of seeing my gradual progress. Been getting back into playing daily since Bedtime Story came out but I've been kept busy with finishing off exploration, achievement clearing, and non-archon quests, and haven't even gotten around to Bedtime Story yet. Honestly, just have fun, and don't overwhelm yourself. Pacing yourself through the game can really help.

Then why would devs make kits and reactions in the first place? Combat is necessary in the game, it just isnt the focus anymore since they prioritized on the casuals who dont bother. When the first thing you learn in the game is to beat up slimes using reaction, then its clear that they had combat in mind and a lot of people were hooked to the game due to that

Great video! Lost my 2nd 50/50 on the Navia banner today (lost on the original and this one again - both times to Mona) and felt a bit fed up with the game and Gacha, but having you list everything there is, and for me everything I have done so far, made me appreciate what we got for free so far. I still want Navia to have a good geo character, but it definitely feels less painful now knowing that in the grand scheme, I've gotten so much more out of this F2P than just grappling onto one character. For Mihoyo everything certainly seems to work out. We're still having a lot of pains with the game as players, especially the Multiplayer, Artifacts and missing presets / saved sets, relatively high prices for buying primogems and the 60fps lock on PC as well as no ARM support, but overall there is a lot of good in this game and other games now being "better" is partly a side effect of being able to learn from Genshin's mistakes and then doing it right from the start. It's certainly possible to have fun with the game, but it also really isn't for everyone with the flaws it still has.

Just a heads up too and I suggested this to Genshin support that if you choose one of the twins but never seen any trailer like I did when I started playing in 2024, I would recommend watching the trailers and see the difference between Aether and Lumine because once you chose a twin, you cannot change it and for me I do love both but on my main account on EU, as I started getting to see more of Lumine and how she is like, I unfortunately cannot reset the game progress and only other way to start over and play as Lumine on my EU region is by deleting the account overall due to Genshin not having a feature where we can reset the progress without having to delete an account which honestly annoys me besides the voice line have bugs in the America and Asia server for some unknown reason, in my opinion, I have to blame myself for not asking my brother who he chose or watching the trailer and jumping straight into the game and picked Aether. Yes Aether is good but I tried Lumine out on America and Asia server and found that her voice over is way different for example you can hear her happiness if she finds a treasure haha

Nothing gives me more joy than going to Teyvat after five hours at uni and four hours at my job (or the other way around). I play the game, because I think it has a beautiful world, amazing music, loveable characters and a good story (great lore!). For me, someone who ended up dropping the game on release only to try it later again and then dropped it again (actually got to Liyue this time) I feel the biggest Issue Genshin has is that it doesnt offer an emotional hook. You are just a random traveller. In a random world. Its literally just Isekai and you are searching for your sibling. thats it. We dont know that sibling, we dont get who they are. We just know they exist. And from then on we are part of a new world, travel onwards through the anime and meet colorful characters, most of which we wont give a crap about cause most of them are just very very anime and then there is Kayea and Venti who are by far the most unique ones (at the start of the game) and one of them only cause hes a Femboy. But even at that stage, Genshin doesnt have anything to hook players from an emotional standpoint which is the biggest source of dopamine. So whats the next thing they did? Number go up. Literally. You explore and get rewards for it. Everything else? Honestly meh. Kinda boring. Combat is for the most part just attack spam and hope your healer gives you enough juice on time. Or you kill the enemies quick enough. Which yes you can do easier as you GRIND relics cause I refuse to call it Farming, its a grind and we all know it is. But then thats also a grind. Overall I think Genshin is a top Casual game one can enjoy on the side from time to time. But its not a game that you can really get hooked on. There is no real emotional storyline to grip you unless you are, no offense, a fricking Teenager. Nothing wrong with it. But most of us who play these games nowadays simply arent. - Personally if I were to give Genshin ANYTHING its making sure that players have an emotional hook from the start that isnt just "Uuuuuh Mystery" and "Uuuuuuh Sibling where?". Especially in the age of AI where we can have straight up chatbots that work with proper information and arent just basic bs, you can very easily get players invested in a character. Even if the stories you played with there arent real, they can lead to a greater emotional hook and make players play simply cause they love the character.

For those just starting out, I 100% recommend using the Genshin Story & Quest Order Guide made by Kir-chan on the Genshin Impact Tips subreddit. It's an incredibly helpful resource if you are primarily interested in the story/lore and want to follow along in the "correct" order. It links to playthroughs of old events and appropriate lore breakdowns while avoiding as many spoilers as possible. I started playing in December and just finished the Fontaine Archon quest last week after taking a few breaks here and there. I love the fact that there's literally so much to do, and you can usually keep up with current timed events without getting spoiled too badly (with a few exceptions - I played Roses & Muskets on mute lol).

I think the secret to any gacha game is not giving into the fear of missing out. Whenever I have phases where I feel burnt out from Genshin, I just don't play the game for a couple of days, weeks, sometimes even months. Yeah you will miss a couple of patches and rewards, but you eventually come back to the game when you really want to play it- not because you think that you have to. And whenever I do come back, it feels a lot more magical again ✨

I do think the game is great, I had a lot of fun when I first started but the burnout will eventually come and when it does it hits hard. The limited time events and resin system really does encourage you to consistently play everyday. If you don't, you miss out. I got as far as starting Sumeru and I do get the itch to jump back I'm but I'm still so far behind on everything. Catching up, and leveling up characters just feels like it'll be a year before I can get anywhere close. Genshin could be so much better if they pulled back on time locking everything. Resin system, primarily since it limits how much you can play overall. Story content no but everything else yes.

Imo it doesn't matter what game you played, as long as you had a purpose that kept you playing that game. For me, the things that keep me going no matter what game are the lore/story of the game and the gameplay. If the games didn't have a good story that interests me, i don't wanna play it. It feels so empty if i just play the game because of the characters and the gameplay (just my preference). Some play games because of the pvp aspect and the victory, to enjoy and spend their time, for the characters, for the gameplay/hard content, for the story and etc.. Burnout happens in all games. Different people experience it differently. So you do you. For me, as a casual player, i do experience burnouts in genshin sometimes and take a break from the game. If i don't feel like playing, i play other games instead or do other things. If the patch updates have some interesting things, i might play it more often. If it doesn't, I might just do dailies and spend some resin, or I don't online at all. We'll see what Natlan has to offer.

I can only wish that everyone pays attention to the lore but it sucks that I can see (based on my observation through my friends) that the majority are just skipping through it for primogems. Not even only the Archon Quests, but also the World Quests that has significant lore that is very interesting and can be used to predict/theorize the future of Genshin. But play the game as how you enjoy it. I'm just kinda promoting the lore lmao.

I´ve been playing since version 2.0, haven't gotten bored yet and I still have soooo many world quests to do and areas to explore. Sometimes I can play 5 hours a day, some days I don't login at all. For a casual gamer like myself who likes fantasy stories, good characters and exploring the absolutely beautiful open world, Genshin is a great game. I play other games as well, so the missing endgame in Genshin isn't that big of a deal for me. It is what it is. But hopefully we get there at some point, because as Bran said in the video, the combat system has so much potential.

I like Genshin, I started to play in October 2020 and it is my "FIRST" gacha game ..... so I was a lot confused at the beginning! You say that the quests and the story (lore) are okay, and I agree, BUT you forgot to tell anything about the MANY, too many puzzles that, by the way are not quests, and have nothing to do with the lore of the game! When I started to play there were none, but now are everywhere, l think they are JUST FILLERS and very annoying to me (my personal opinion). The EVENT for the summer time are just that PUZZLES/RIDDLES and a lot of talking, this last one is unbelievable there are just that not one quests! I will do something else perhaps I will be lucky and find a better game, I live in Australia and it is winter here, ok it is not an excuse but after almost 4 years of playing this game what I have left is just a graphically amazing game which has lost the beginning and gone toward a TCG and puzzles with very little content! P.S. It is not true that you get a 4 star every 10 pulls you can get just weapons and not after 20 pulls even more that that, it happens to me most of my pulls! Plus you do not get FREE characters or skins....you need to do something to get them, free to me is when you get and item as a present just because you do nothing for it!

Doing everything from story quests, exploration, building my characters and so on probably took me a year or so to do. Trust me people who are thinking about jumping in now, it is worth it in terms of the sheer amount of content on offer for completely free.

I kept on lvl 35 for well over 6 months now (started in September 2023) and I could/can do almost every quest apart from the IV+ Archon Quests and a few regional quests that for some quirky reason require a higher level. I have amassed almost 700k EXP, have almost 780 achievements unlocked and I have tons of visitors who I can help with domains, bosses or even letting them simply gather materials (I do NOT understand why so many players guard their materials like rl gold, it all grows back ffs). I have maxed (for my lvl) 19 characters (including their weapons, artifacts, talents) and still have over 30 characters that I can max as slowly or quickly as I please, if i choose to. There is always new content which one can choose to do , or not to do but mainly the regions are still spectacular and beautiful even if some areas have been toned down a little bit - so even just wandering through the regions and while whacking monsters is immense fun for as short or as long a time as one wishes to put in daily or weekly, imo.

The best advice is just to take your time and enjoy it. Do a world quest, explore a little, use your resin, maybe do part of an event and call it a day if you want. There's so much content that playing it casually will provide you with lots of stuff you'll like to do. Not every piece of content will be for you, but I can say that I've been playing it this way for 1.5 years and there's still a decent bit I want to do.

Even more if I want to try to disconnect from Twitter or places like that, people always start dragging those topics into the convo, wherever fucking tectone does shit everyone has to know about it. I started playing it exactly at v1.0 well I was working now that to so no time of playing evertyime BUT the patch is so slow anyway (that took every 6 weeks) I can manage to get all the quests and 100% my exploration slowing but surely.. so even if it is a "dead" patch then I don't mind since it can only took me a few minutes anyway to online then after that I can now focus on my work again 😅 so yeah it feels great for me anyway so this "boring" moments from genshin can make me focus more besides playing (like "touch the grass") even if my account is having Max achievements, 100% my exploration, Designing my Teapot & also even playing TCG 🤣 Also this is the only game I played in my mobile though (cuz you know the size) that's why I'm more focused here while the same time focusing in my actual life... BUT what really makes me stay here is because of the LORE (Both Archon quest and even Side quest) and the music as well 😘

Personally traded in Genshin for HSR besides doing archon/character quests, I love Genshins story, but the grinding in Genshin got a bit tedious while not being engaging (Talent mats, artifacts, ...). In HSR I can chill while doing that grinding, WuWa grinding feels less tedious because travel is smoother and fights are more challenging

idk I feel like WuWa is rapidly going in the wrong direction in terms of difficulty. I love jinhsi easily one of my favourite characters in the game so far and its not even close but even weekly bosses at max difficulty have become completely effortless with her. Don't even need to dodge anymore lol, just mash left click and occationally push E and everything evaporates. Don't get me wrong she's fun to play, I just hope they don't go the genshin route and keep releasing characters that totally trivialise the otherwise engaging combat

So many QoL (Quality of Life) updates, stories are nice and in abundance, character designs are improved. Although one thing to take note of is how old characters have been powercrept, so you'll want to pull for a few of the newer characters. But you get tons of primogems from exploring the new maps, so it can be a fun thing instead I believe I did the correct thing by stopped when I got burnt out from playing, thinking "I can re-download the game later and it'll be much more fun that way"

What made me burn out of the game was that I couldn’t finish the limited time events after the Fontaine Quest. I was super excited to do them but I just needed a breather after all that hype, however I just couldn’t complete them and it made me disheartened a bit. I never felt that way after 2.5 years of playing it until that point because I really love being immersed in the story and just seeing my favourite characters interact was enough for me, but having to miss the events so much that involve character interactions and lore, instead of getting FOMO I just had to uninstall the game because there was no way I could play them anyway after recovering from burnout. Plus, I’m getting older. While the game is great to play casually, after doing all the side quests and dailies everyday I was itching for more of a challenge since the gameplay slowly became monotonous for me. Like it’s stagnant. World exploration was the only thing I found fun and relaxing, but similar to Pokémon’s situation, some/most of their fans aren’t kids anymore and are looking for more of a challenge and more diverse gameplay, plot, and Pokémon. I won’t hold it against the game itself since the target is casuals, but after all the criticism for Genshin was used for HSR, no real endgame or “goal” for me to work towards, weak MC gameplay compared to their lore (nit-picky I know), bosses being to easy, the game having gotten EASIER since I first played it etc. I don’t know. I want to reinstall for Natlan, but from what was advertised and with the recent concerns regarding the culture, I dunno. I didn’t expect Natlan to be Pokémon, and the clothing on some of them doesn’t really remind me of Genshin, but more like Pokémon.

I sometimes get bored and that's when I take a step back and just do the bare minimum dailies+resin. As an MMO player before, I quite enjoy how you can either choose to grind a lot or just do nothing but aforementioned bare minimum (or not even that if you're not pressed for it). I'm always reluctant to recommend Genshin since it's still a gacha and no game is ever truly perfect, but Genshin is polished and cared for, getting regular content updates. I think it's worth a shot regardless of the patch we find ourselves in.

I can attest to not getting AR locked now. I recently made a new account (a no-wishing account, it has been interesting so far) and my issue is that I am getting the AR exp too fast and can't keep my characters/weapons up with my AR level. And there is a ton of content. I started in 3.8 and it took me about 8 months to finish clearing everything in the game (all quests done, map cleared, all achievements except time-gated ones, etc.) and I'm a hard core game completionist who plays an average of close to 2 hours per day. It isn't possible to run out of things to do in game unless you play multiple hours per day or have been a long time player, and even then with the new content and limited events there is constantly something new to do. As for the events, I really wish the lore/story ones were permanent, and at least some of the unique and fun ones. I loved that alchemy event from a few patches ago. It was like a really watered down version of a simulation I did when I got my MBA, with some other fun puzzle mechanics thrown in.

If you get yourself 1 good 5 star charachter at level 60 and a good 4 star level 60, anything from pre-inazuma to fontaine will be a zoom. So, just try and pull for 1 good, maybe dps or sub dps, 5 star and the rest is easy. My team is: furina lvl 70, bennet lvl 70, fischl lvl 60 abd yaoyao lvl 60. None of them have 5 star weapons and mostly have random 3-4 star artifacts i got from chests and bosses. So what im trying to say, dont let some people on tiktok fool you, you dont need a full 5 star level 90 team to play the game! And there is no such thing as necessary characters, but there are some characters that are helpful. For example characters that have special sprints (yelan, sayu, lynette...) but still, they arent needed. Just enjoy the game and take your time, i was stuck at the quest with dainsleif after liyue for WEEKS because my team sucked, so then, i quit the game (not because of that, but because the fontaine update took a lot of space) months later i got a new phone, restarted playing and i completed it! (i did need to watch a vid on how to defeat the guard) and after that EVERYTHING went fastly and well. So uhm yeah, sorry for getting off topic, even if you feel stuck, you can just watch a tutorial on how to continue lmfao

Dude I don’t have that) and the concept of needing to do 180 pulls is shocking and in some form scary because you can only get as many primogems per patch, especially a banner run. Like genuinely for people like me who have to be free to play and don’t have another option pulling is so very difficult and limited, it’s why Hoyoverse giving out more primogems and more ways to get primogems is important.

Losing 50/50 is quite a unfair thing but atleast it guarantees. There is also those side quest and world exploration which gives enough primogems. I am actually satisfied because I have bad experience with gacha like afk journey and one piece bounty rush. This game gacha is way better than those. I heard HSR team is more generous and wuwa had better gacha system in weapons but i don't like their playstyle so only genshin left for me.
