Trivia: The Japanese name is "Fuku-wa-uchi Udon" meaning "In-with-the-luck/prosperity Udon" In Setsubun festival (around February) there's a ritual where people (usually children) throw beans at oni-masked people while chanting "oni wa soto, fuku wa uchi" ("out with the oni, in with the luck") Sounds familiar? Yes, Itto's bean allergy comes from this legend And in Setsubun there's also the tradition to eat "longevity noodles" (name escapes me atm) to wish for long and good life for the year to come Seems like Genshin combines Kitsune Udon with the Setsubun concept to make this dish

Watching the Genshin irl recipes makes me understand why there's only 12% of chance of the character who's cooking to do a special dish, i don't think i would have the willpower and the inspiration to cook such a complex dish like this one.

I made it, and I the only time I cook is for my family , so I ended up making 4 portions, so here are some tips for making it more on the practical side than the aesthetic: - to be time effective, boil the water while you fry your tofu, than mix your ingredients in and keep it on low heat while you make the Sakura parts -measure all your broth ingredients beforehand so you can add them fast without effort - if you did this last minute like me and didn't have Sakura molds my tip is to use a small glass or a round mold to make a circle and then make 5 small cuts with a knife, then "fold" the corners in so they are rounded (it's the best method i could think of at least) -kinda side note In my case the flour dried out pretty fast so keep a bit of water close by in case it starts falling apart, especially for the small details -other side note, I honestly don't know if I made the flowers too thin but I had so much dough left over!! (And I made 4 portions, I put a flower in each and one of them had two so I could take pictures lol. Total: 5 ) unless I did it very wrong I would only use 25 g and 25 ml (and if it's not enough you can always make more easily, it better to not have enough and make more than to have too much :D ) -last side note i promise, make all the flowers first so if you have leftover dough or not enough of one colour you can mix them together to make the petals at the end - Add enoki mushrooms. Trust me. -conveniently and coincidentally already have Sakura themed bowls because if you are cooking more than one portion to actually have people eat it, there is no way you want to spend an hour drawing pretty designs on bowls (lol) That's all I can think of at the moment, but I might add more, i hope this helps anyone who might want to make it (especially if you have no experience like me. I know this would have helped me a lot) And overally if you're wondering if it will actually taste good, in my opinion and the one of my three other family members, it is VERY worth it and tastes delicious :D

Ive been subscribed for a while but i always find myself coming back to this video not only because it looks delicious, but it really shows the dedication they put into each of these dishes. They even added the small pink lines in the middle of the sakura too! I bet that was so difficult to pull off

I made it, It tastes pretty much like your standard udon noodle soup you can buy by the bowl however however the fried tofu was a welcome and tasty addition, I never considered that before and shall be adding it more to my udon in the future. Overall this dish is like a lot of food from Genshin Impact, it doesn't taste much different than you're standard food that you would get that it's based on however it's more about the decoration and special touches added. The dish did give me summoning luck however. I managed to get both Yae Miko and her weapon with ease and only a few summons. So take that as you may.

The time and effort it must’ve taken to plan and make this is crazy. The outcome is so amazing!
