the Aeon of nihility is not “the embodiment of depression” it’s nihility. There’s also a second faction with nihility called the doctors of chaos. essentially when you look at IX you have two results either you reject nihility yet ultimately believe it, you get a self annihilator. But if you see IX and get inspired then you become one of the doctors of chaos. Their goal is to actually make IX see there is value in the universe. Basically self annihilators are forced to feel the ideals of nihility while the doctors of chaos fully accept the ideal of nihility and are fine with it. Also

Aha is the most unique concept technically a God that is only purpose was to troll the universe. Will inflict destruction and chaos just to get a laugh.

HooH The Equilibrium is probably the strongest Aeon that will ever exist. If anything tries to kill it or absorb it, HooH will just wipe them off the face of the Universe to maintain Equilibrium. It is also the Aeon who keeps every other Aeon in check, if HooH didnt exist Aha would have turned the universe into chaos, Mythus and Nanook would have destroyed the universe and so on.

Robin might be an Emanator of Harmony. The game briefly mentions that her voice isn't actually a voice, but a resonance with Harmony. Since Harmony is disrupted in Penacony at the time that we visit, this is why her voice is out of whack. It can't resonate with Harmony properly bc the Family is so discordant right now.

Fun fact: Aha is the one who gave nanook his scar, so aha literally fucked with nanook just for the funsies

i think the difference between destruction and finality is if the universe is destroyed, it still can be built again, but if it ends, it can never begin again.

The lore of the Aeons are fascinating. And the way they operate is also interesting. Like if two paths overlap, one of those paths would eventually be absorbed into the more dominant one. If an Aeon strays from the path, then they face consequences for doing so. How one ascends to an Aeon is a mixed bag, like Nanook became an Aeon after the destruction of his homeworld and Aha became one after climbing the Imaginary Tree (I think) and laughing at a baby falling. Tazzyzronth basically became an Aeon because they were lonely. It's all really interesting....

What if Finality is made of or split into multiple other Aeons? We have 3 existing Aeons that bring the end: Destruction, Nihility and Voracity lead to the destruction, erasure and consumption of existence. Maybe I have been reading too much Lord of Mysteries lately but it feels like we have lesser entities presiding over fragments of domains of true cosmic gods. The more of HSR's story comes out the more I think Shaoji is a Cuttlefish fan.

Gotta say this was a fascinating watch! I find the lore of HSR to actually be pretty fascinating, and deeper the more I read their little collection books in the game. Personally, one path I find very interesting that is often overlooked is the path of the Abundance. Mostly with those that follow her. We all know of Disciples of Sanctus Medicus, as one of the primary antagonists of the Luofu arc. But what we don't hear enough about, but get hinted towards all the time are two mega big races that follow her. The Borisons are a race that are supposedly the primary antagonists for the Xianzhou Fleet. A race whose population numbers exploded after deciding to embrace Yaoshi. And described as basically being the cousins of Foxians, only they're more dog and wolf oriented. Whose numbers are so insane, that they're only stopped from a plague on par with the Swarm due to the Xianzhou keeping their numbers in check. And there's even hints of them having transformations, which gives me werewolf vibes lol! A massive race of werewolves that the Xianzhou have to fight all the time, sounds awesome. And I'd love to see them in game! Also, the Wing Weavers. Which were supposedly a bird like race that once had a gargantuan universal empire in ancient times predating most galactic empires of the present. Followers of Yaoshi, who hope to rebuild their lost empire. Just some really awesome factions there! I'd love to see an Abundance world in the future

This probably wasn't intended but this video is a great way of introducing the timeline of events in HSR and it kinda shows that the overall plot down the line started long ago. This is a chain of events, The Swarm Disaster - a ravaging universal imbalance. The Aeons step in to solve it and return "balance" but this...disorder, entropy, whatever, cannot be killed. It has now manifested in a different way, Nanook the Destruction, just like Tazzyronth, I think his presence and threat will grow to be a universal threat and that is when we will learn a "truth" about the Star Rail Universe and our trailblazer

Just to mention a thought of my own regarding Terminus and Nanook, their paths are seemingly similar, but one craves the destruction of the universe, one IS the end. Effectively, Nanook’s goal is to kill terminus, and is likely doing so by attempting to destroy futures until one remains. As I see it, Terminus is the one closest to a true God, God who has possibly seen, and molded, the creation of the universe, which now makes me wonder, why haven’t we seen a path based on true creation? ( Yaoshi doesn’t count)

Destruction doesn't always means there's nothing left (= Annihilation). You hear of "destructive war" but there's survivors, later people can grow things back from the earth. While "being anihilated" just means there's nothing left, like a genocide. With destruction comes creation. You can destroy a tower but you will/can build something else there.

Sounds like Elio is in the path of Finality that's why it's also called stelleron hunter because there is connection between Finality and Destruction

Regarding Terminus, I am fairly certain that there was recently a discovery of some form of cosmic radiation that led some scientist to form a new theory that the universe is in a constant cycle of 'Big Bangs'. First a Big Bang occurs forming the universe, then untold amount of time later the universe once again converges into a single point where the big bang once again occurs and the cycle continues, it's hard to explain for me who is not very into this stuff but you can easily look it up. To me it sounded like the eon Terminus was inspired by this concept hence he has seen the beginning and the end of the Universe. Also awesome video by the way!! :D

Maybe i'm misremembering but mikhail was also on the express before going to penacony so it could be inferred that it was only broken down for a generation unless the flow of time in the dreamscape differs from the rest of the universe.

All of the aeons are really interesting, the ideals of some of these aeons are so fascinating. Your breakdown of these aeons are pretty great👍. My favorite aeons based on design is probably oroboros.

There’s a theory ratio is the Emanator of aha. His eyes are ahas Color scheme, he has owl motives, just like aha. This owl and overall Greek symbolism makes him very reminiscent of Athena, Greek goddess of wisdom and battle strategy who often allied with Hermes, a trickster god who a long time ago sprung from pan, a god of insanity. Ratio did not get an invite to Penacony as diamond (?) says to adventuring at the end of story quest he came alone. Ratio was with him tho so did he smuggle himself in? It would also make sense why nous doesn’t gaze upon him and makes him part of the genius society as he is clearly smart enough. Nous simply doesn’t want to take the emanator of another aeon. Ratio is follow up attack, speak elation. And who guessed it, that’s ahas path. Also, most convincing point. Aha would get a kick out of making ratio, a man who despised fools his emanator. That’s his kind of stunt to pull.

if I understand correctly, then eons cannot be truly killed, Ena still exists inside Xipe, if you look at her dialogue in the simulated universe, you can see that Xipe communicates in red text and Ena in blue, from one book on Lofu you can find Fu Xuan's text about what The pieces of Tayziront prison are trying to come together, the raison existence of the mirror holders is to reassemble Idrila. Kafka mentioned a third way to kill an aeon, perhaps this method can kill an aeon for real and it was in this way that Long or Akivili died, or perhaps they both died in this way (Sorry my english not so good)

i think the reason terminus and destruction haven't combined into one is because they represent subtly different paths. destruction is havoc, chaos, and death perpetrated amongst mortal, living beings. nanook wants the destruction of all life and all traces of life. terminus, on the other hand, doesn't seem to actually "want" anything, and instead represents the concept of entropy. if the honkai universe follows the same trajectory as our own, then eventually the universe will experience heat death and reach an end of literally everything--not just life but the end of all matter and energy. finality is the understanding that all things are finite and have an end, a true end separate from the concept of mortal death. i also wonder if maybe terminus and long were involved somehow. permanence goes against the concept of entropy--nothing in the universe lasts forever, therefore nothing can ever be truly permanent. it's possible that permanence died or vanished when it met finality.

The aeons are referred with the pronouns of singular 'they/them'. The game emphasises this by italicising when the aeon is being refered with the use of 'THEM' or 'THEY' you can see this in Sunday's voicelines. none of them are he or she, why they take the shape of humanoid figures is unknown, but some of them were beasts before being aeons, so no way are they limited to the stereotypes of what male and female are

Im pretty sure Aha and Akivili may have been friends at one point considering the bombing was a prank planned by Aha and how Aha when met in the simulated universe sounded sad when he sees the trailblazer(who was disguised as Akivili) despite knowing that the trailblazer is not Akivili(which hints to some theories that the trailblazer may be something left behind from Akivili and the stellaron is used like a battery. We know for one TB was mentored by Kafka and if TB requires a stellaron or several to stay awake then that could explain what happened to all the stellarons stolen by the stellaron hunters)

there's actually a pretty big chunk we know about the path of finality thanks to HI3. my guess is that the finality is borne from a galaxy overcome by the nihility or destruction and became ascended into the fermi paradox (the idea that there is a cosmic test or limit that prevents alien civilisations from simultaneously existing). the titular honkai is a sort of manifestation of the finality's will, meant to test and empower civilisations to overcome great odds. the big reason I think finality is the force of adaptation is because of the nature of honkai. we know from interactions with the sugars and sky people that the honkai (primarily the herrschers) adapt to the advancements of the civilisation and can differ between planets because of that. the 13 herrschers leading up to the finality are all adaptations to humanity's current abilities, but are also simultaneously different shades of the herrscher of finality.

the most interesting for me is finality(might be the honkai) since it might be connected Acheron, a very interesting time travel lore and one of the bridge that connects us to Honkai impact 3rd

I felt like Akivili and Aha is antithesis to Xipe and Ena. Xipe and Ena is Order, Harmony, but also Stillness and Stagnation, Aha and Akivili on the other hand are Freedom, Innovation, and Chaos. Aha might have orchestrated Ena demise or/and Akivili disappearance making Aha the most Chaos of Chaos and Xipe the less Order of Order.

The commentary regarding Mythus being an Emanator of Nous is seemingly sourced from a popular meme, and doesn't have text regarding it in-game. It's in-character and funny, though. Really, we're not supposed to know much of THEM at all other than being born from the Remembrance -it's why Memory Bubbles can be turned into Dream Bubbles. Mythus opens the pathway to endless possibilities and interpretations. THEY'RE kinda cool that way!

A personal headcanon so dont take it seriously: what if we'll see a new path like path of humanity and an aeon of it (like elysia who is the herrscher of humanity). Like I believe this aeon unlike others is actually just a mortal who has a long lifespan but can be killed (in a way, this character would be kevin + elysia in a nutshell) and maybe they're trying to chanhe the entire course of universe by judging the other aeons and maintain balance (this character could be emanator of equilibrium but aeon of humanity sounds way cooler ngl). I would imagine the character to be named as Ren since in chinese, ren (a.k.a putong ren) means regular person. I feel like this ren can also wield powers of other aeons (since humanity at its core harbors all the concepts and ideals of the universe hence being an aeon of it, I don't see why they can't do it)

I'm excited if more playable paths in the game, but I think it's a big task for the development team. They need to either introduce a new gameplay mechanic or figure out a way to use existing mechanics to make the characters of that path feel unique.

I'm curious about the next boss, in the trailer there is an attack that resembles some sort of FMA touching god scene where a hand that looks like Xipe + Ena comes down and touches the penacony boss's finger, is that just an Emanator or is it the Aeon itself? Hope they don't do the same mistake as Tower of God did IMO, if anyone read it they know what I'm talking about , basically I would NOT like to already see more and more Emanators and Aeons involved, maybe after a 3.0 or something they could introduce the first involved Aeon in the story that doesn't get seriously involved about it, it would diminish a lot of work because it basically just sets up the bar so high no matter where they go they have a god damn Aeon on their side or to fight (besides Nanook but that guy doesn't get hyper involved himself , we fight anti matter legion by proxy and phantiliya the same), what power up could WE the main crew get that isn't BS at that point.
