It's only random if you don't remember Ed equates mermaids with peace and so him seeing Stede like that has more meaning. He straight up said he'd prefer to die snuggled my mermaids lol.

❤ love the show really enjoying the rewatch of both one and two. It anfRoswell New Mexico are my favorite shows right now because both have amazing representation for the lgbtq and diversification.
