I’m not sure which one you got but I bought a replica and it is A mirror image of the real one recoil lugs at all it has a matte finish and I have done numerous tests with this mount and the replica unity mounts summer spot on some aren’t I dropped cement blocks on the replicas with cheap optic and it made me a believer the hydra amount as well as unity mount our way over priced for what you get some of these replicas perform like the real thing there are several manufacturers doing the replicas and you have to get a few to get the right one. I will never pay for these overprice mounts again. Great video thank you

thats just speculation, you cant tell that.. And the logo in the original is not even centered, attention to detail seems sketchy, Id be ocd about that if it was my product. Regardless of materials, asking $500 makes the intentions clear

Just curious, what makes you thing the original mount will hold zero like it should? Unlike red dots and holo, the replica definitely won’t hold zero on a real steel. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying the replica is better than the original one but I do smelting aluminium for a living, as long as they have the same alloy grade and hardness level (T5 or T6) they are basically the same thing.

@Desmond Low I’ve used both. I have about 1000 rounds on the replica and probably 600-700 on my buddy’s original. Both have held zero so far (I know it’s not that many rounds yet though). I did use locktite on each but the original gbrs hydra, two of the screws backed out of. Idk if that speaks for the mount itself but was most likely just user error. But either way if anyone wants one of these, the replica is nothing less (so far) from the original except for the DRAMATIC price difference

@@coleber7389 no reason it would not hold zero it is a solid mount either one that and optic attaches too, the only thing that would change your zero is the optic more than any mount would.

​@@gregchamberlain7554 I will point out that for a lot of these defense companies don't really have the civilian market as their main market, considering that a lot of their money comes from military, LE, and related, who usually have their organization pay for shit. In all honesty, the common people aren't who companies like GBRS really have their eyes set on. It's an option to buy from them, but you aren't their priority. Very few actually do aim for the civilian market or make products dedicated to civilians.

@@greenradiozone824 see I just disagree. Yes there are companies that cater to special markets. But there are lots more that point the efforts at civis. Let's not even talk about the amount of Cheap Chinese stuff the flood the civilian market targeting new users. The issue is a lot of it can just be flat out junk for way too much money. Not to mention how the offshore cloning entities have made some companies that charge tons of money for items that should be probably be a lot less in cost. What they seem to be able to do is make a copy and charge let's say 15-20 times less for it. Yes you are correct in that what does that say about our military spending? as a nation we are being overcharge for military goods and equipment.

If I had to chose between small business owners that scam their customers vs. Chinese company with equitable products for 10% the price, I’m going Chinese knockoff every time
