I’m so happy you didn’t give up on her! I wish all shelters and rescues told people about the 3/3/3 rule. To many return after a day or two because the don’t understand these animals are traumatized at the shelter and are confused. They just need time and guidance ❤

I volunteer at my local shelter and I tell the adopters about it and they get a pamphlet about the rule and still bring back the dogs. Some people just don't listen or read the info given. It's heartbreaking too.

Thank you for telling people that it can be hard and that it's okay to feel overwhelmed as an adopter. I'm always amazed when a dog isn't traumatized, confused and anxious after switching from a foster to their forever home. I mean, I would be. Nobody can explain to them why this huge change is happening. Kiki seems absolutely lovely.

She wasn’t biting or aggressive. AND that’s what matters. A mess can always be cleaned up. Yes a pain in the rump however a small price. Good on you for not giving up on her!!!! ❤❤❤

For the first week I had my adult rescue pup, I set the timer on the microwave and took her out to potty every two hours as I did not know if she was fully potty trained. I would clap, woo-hoo and treat when she pottied. The 2nd week I extended it to every 3 hours. Anyhow, it worked for me so if there is anyone else out there struggling with house accidents, maybe try this method. As for sweet Kiki, so grateful she is now living the life she so deserves!

It's so great to see how happy she is. My baby was so sad in her old home. Never uncurled her tail from under her butt, never got excited, just sat in a box covered by a blanket. Then I got her and she is totally different now! A happy, precious girl.

Thank you for rescuing her. She looks amazing and she’s happy with her new owner. Fairplay to you for persevering with her and never giving up on her. I love her tongue we have a cat. His name is buddy he’s had all his teeth taken out because he’s an old boy and he looks just like her. He sits there with his tongue hanging out. It’s great that she talked about how hard it can be in the beginning. I’ve fostered and rescued, and the first few days of fostering can be so challenging, but it’s so rewarding when you start to see their real personalities come out and their stress subside ❤❤❤ so I hope someone sees this who’s questioning their decision and it encourages them not to give up.

Kiki's so cute, thanks for not giving up on her. She looks a bit like my neighbor's dog who just died, and this is also the day that one of my own dogs passed away. So as I remember them today, it was nice to see this video of Kiki. She has no idea of how silly she is w/the longest tongue I've ever seen, but that she finally settled in means she's loved.💕🐶☮️🙏🏻🌈

Jan Fennell is so great in her advice on preventing accidents and helping the dog to relax and be able to see that it's the right thing to do to go potty outside. Her amichien method is so gentle and it calms everybody (including the humans) down. It has worked so wonderfully on the dogs that I have.

But I stayed with them and they turned out to be the best you could hope for . I would do it again in a minute. Thank you again for giving her the home she deserves ❤. And not giving up .

Yes, I read about that 3-3-3 rule when I adopted 2 beautiful small breed senior dogs, and with time, patience, commitment & lots of love & hugs, my sweet peas knew there were home. It's been over a year and half now and Mikey & Bolle are doing great, I love them so much... I'm so grateful that the boys are in my life. ❤🐾🙏😇

I know the feeling of being overwhelmed at first. We’ve had our Sadie since January. She is doing so well. We’re retired so we are home a lot. A bit nervous about leaving her next month for a few days, but we found a wonderful person to stay most of the time with her. Love this girl to the 🌕moon. Your dog is so cute with that tongue and getting excited for walks. Enjoy!

Thank you for not giving up on her and returning her soon after adoption. It’s so traumatic to an animals soul. It causes more damage and makes it hard for them to be adopted out and usually develop unwanted behaviors. Our little dog came to us as I was his foster mom. He’d been adopted and returned to the dog and cat rescue I volunteered for for many years and he came with a lot of emotional baggage. He’d been returned because of people, not him and he also had been abused, neglected and abandoned which made him a tough cookie. When he was returned that fourth time I saw him in a room by himself. I’m the cat lady, but he and I instantly hit it off. Come to find out there was a note on the door I missed about only staff (which I was by then) and caution because he was biting everyone and not eating. He went home with me that night and the rest is history. He still has some issues but we love him because of it. So glad this baby got another chance as well. ♥️🙏🏼😽🐶

This is so wonderful and you have much patience in the potty training.sometimes it seems impossible but you gave courage to anyone going thru this. Kiki is just so sweet and unique love the tongue thing makes her just so special and she acts like a clown.Shes definitely one to lift up the spirits in us humans.Thank you for loving her and sharing your beautiful video.Your heroes.
