The Bee Gees didn't know how to read music, yet they were masters at writing songs. They were blessed with creativity, spiritualism, romanticism and instinctive musical harmony. I have been a major fan of theirs for nearly 50 years. Although they have a huge following, I feel they really deserve more accolades than they have received from the music industry. They should be recognized & remembered for their musical impact and longevity just as Elvis, the Beatles, & Michael Jackson.

To think if Arif Mardin never asked for one of the brothers to go and scream high in nights on Broadway we may never have seen their brilliant Night Fever Album. Funnily enough Mardin is not one to take credit " Everyone credits me but he was doing it, I just asked him to keep doing it" he said in the documentary, but his influence obviously allowed the Bee Gees to become The Bee Gees we all know and love today.

@gloriamaryhaywood22172 жыл бұрын
On some of Robins later concerts once Mo had passed and he was touring alone, the music at times truly drowned him out. Or his Mic wasn't turned up enough. So a through sound check would have caught that. I Adore Robin, and his voice has No peers to me!! ( But Robin wasn't always good at handling the details. Oh, well!😁) Miss him and Mo so very much.

@@piastruck6190 Correct. But in the end it was on Robin to do a final sound check. That's where I'm at on this. Btw...I am a HUGE Robin fan. I heard Robin caught some real flack about his album Magnet? Or maybe it was the promotion of it?🤔 Anyways, somebody stated that Barry knew production and would always over-see the process and he would have never have let something go out like that? Robin wasn't a detailed person in the same way Barry was, but he should have over-seen and called the shots himself when something wasn't up to par. But of course after Mo died, well Robin was all over the damn place, trying to out-run the pain. So he was touring round the clock and I guess he just trusted those he hired to get it right? Rip Robin and Mo.💔
@piastruck61902 жыл бұрын
@@gloriamaryhaywood2217 he could have made the adjustment on stage too. I'm sure they had a sound team that new where things were supposed to be. anyone could have made sure his mic was loud enough. and BARRY was the one that had the problem with the Wish You Were Here Song that Robin did as a tribute to his Twin Brother who died. Tough shit Barry, back off- it was his Twin, His tribute, His album and his fans LOVED the version. Pick your battles controlling big Bro. let him have the version. it helped him so it should not have been made into a huge deal. that's where I'm at on the whole deal
@gloriamaryhaywood22172 жыл бұрын
@@piastruck6190 No way was the song "Wish You Were Here" re-done as a tribute to Robins twin brother. Mo died Jan. 12, 2003. This album Magnet was released on Jan. 22, 2003. So that track had to have been laid down way before, along with all the other songs when recording the Magnet album. Yes, I know that Barry was very upset that Robin had included that particular song on his new album. I think that since it was agreed among them that the song was a tribute to Andy, their younger brother who had passed away in 1988, that Barry took offense that Robin would include it in? But of course Robin had every right to include it in, as he helped to write it. I'm not surprised Barry became un-glued over it though. Once Mo was gone then the man-in-the-middle was gone, and things really intensified between Barry and Robin. Robin reached out over and over to his big brother, Barry, but for whatever reasons Barry pretty much shut him out. Very SAD. I wish so much Robin could have been spared the pain of losing his twin, and then the abandonment by Barry. Robin was in a world of hurt with losing Mo. I think Barry clearly saw how shook up he was and took advantage of his vulnerable condition. It's hard for me to get past that. In fact, I find myself unable to forgive Barry for that. It seemed calculated and very cold hearted.
