A world class actor couldn't have done it more convincingly. No hype, often not looking at Boycott, and not even recognizing it effected him for several minutes. As beautifully and elegantly played as any off drive through the covers for four.

If that's Boycott taking it well, I'd hate to see him taking anything badly. I seem to recall that he was spitting blood when Botham ran him out on purpose at Christchurch in 1978 when Boycott had raced to 26 off 80 balls and England needed quick runs for a chance to beat NZ and level the series. "Wot 'ave yer dun, wot 'ave yer dun?" bleated Boycott. "I've run you out, you ****" was the reply "Worrabout mi average?" wailed the (very) temporary England captain - whose 77 off a mere 302 balls in the first Test is probably still talked about sadly among insomniacs in Christchurch, wishing the home VCR had been on general sale just a little earlier.

@@1414yorks Except that he didn't face Lillee and Thompson at their fastest in the 74-75 ashes series, nor Holding and Roberts in 1976, because of his self-imposed exile from the England test team. Instead, England had to call up a couple of forty-something players in Colin Cowdery and Brian Close, who were well past their prime but willing to put their bodies on the line. I have a lot of admiration for his stubborn batting, but he was an awkward so and so, and he didn't always serve his country as well as he could have done.

Absolutely magnificent! The setup was so expertly done with just the right level of believeablity to hook Boycott.

Just like a test match, the tension builds and builds until someone cracks. The following year I saw Sir Geoffrey and Aggers at a theatre. I can tell you that Sir Geoffrey definitely got his own back.

ONYA Agger's, you're always a legend here in Australia Mr Boycott. I saw you and Beefy play against Chappelle and Lillie at the SCG back in the 70's.

I love the young producer's reaction at the back. And how Geoff keeps looking at him for validation.

I listened to this live on 5live sports extra and it’s great to watch it back. It’s so funny to watch Aggers, especially as he almost cracks up throughout the wind up. Ace. Long live TMS!

yes and I was sat in my car listen as had just got home thinking that the changes were ridiculous, not because of the racist arrogant Boycott, but the stupidity of the revisionist interference. You could see on the clip he's trying to work out how it affects him personaly

Aggers and Boycott, I can't help but love them. Cricket is lucky to have such characters (and many more, Bumble etc) in the game. Thanks for uploading.

This really is outstanding. The thought, the effort, the preparation. The slow build up during the cricket, little by little, piece by piece. Boycott trying so hard not to care, aggers poking proding slowly but surely ramping the annoyance. It is one of the greatest wind ups ever. As for "you invited me under false pretences" woooow

9:15 I love the 2 second delay it takes Geoffrey's mind to compute being told it was a complete wind up! Absolutey masterclass in Wind-uppery from Agnew and the rest of TMS!
