8:58 You are historically wrong here. As you mentioned in your video, Bahrain was occupied by the British. But you didn't mention that when the British occupied Bahrain, Bahrain was a part of Iran as one country. When the British left, they returned some the occupied lands and islands back to Iran. But they also made a lot of promises to local tribe leaders. The Shah of Iran complained to the UN. But at the end, the UN decided that Bahrain should become a new country in exchange for the British giving back the other occupied islands to Iran. (The Abu-Musa island for example)

+Riswan Ahmad P yes and it is written with Q and not K or C because it is supposed to correspond to another arabic letter which makes sound close to K but the sound comes from more behind and into the neck position .. well.. hard to explain by words.. see for urself

SantomPh No, the letter qaahf as in Qatar is the second sound. The letter kaaf as in Kuwait or kitab is the first one. Which is the third one?

Amghannam The third one is originally Persian but used very commonly in Bahrain and other Arabic countries. It's a normal ك with a line on it (گ); and no, that's not فتحة. Don't know how to describe it's pronunciation.

the wind turbine building at 1:54 How much energy does that thing produce, compared to how much it uses?
@GeographyNow
@GeographyNow 9 жыл бұрын
David Harrison That was actually something I originally put in the video but had to cut it out because it was taking up too much time, the building is the Bahrain world trade center and was the first building to have such a feature. The turbines are estimated to save the building up to 15% of their annual energy costs
