@@josephlindor3708 I did... Greek War of Independence: Haiti was the first government of an independent state that recognised the Greek revolution against the Ottoman Empire. President Jean-Pierre Boyer, following a Greek request for assistance, addressed a letter on 15 January 1822. In the letter sent to Greek expatriates living in France, Adamantios Korais, Christodoulos Klonaris, Christodoulos Klonaris, Konstantinos Polychroniades and A. Bogorides, who had assembled themselves into a Committee which was seeking international support for the ongoing Greek revolution, expressed his support for the Greek Revolution and compared the struggle underfoot across the Atlantic to the struggle for independence in his own land. He apologized for being unable to support the Revolution in Greece financially, though he hoped he might be able to in the future. But he articulated his moral and political support for the revolution, notably by filling his letter with references to classical Greek history, demonstrating a detailed knowledge of this history and powerfully evoking the contemporary revolutionaries as the rightful heirs of their ancestors.

Dominican here! I've been to Haiti and I absolutely loved it. Media is being so unfair with Haiti. In my country, you can perceive a lot of bad propaganda about the country, such as: they have no trees, they are the poorest and chaotic people on Earth and so on. I was sick of hearing all that stuff that our Dominican media tells us, so I decided to go to Haiti and I'm very proud to say that I loved the country, the people, the language, the culture... Everything. We are so alike and different at the same time that it is amazing to think that in just one island, you can appreciate such a variety of culture. Greetings to my fellow Haitians, from Dominican Republic. Love for you and your undoubtedly amazing country!

Ulises Jorge Bidó I agree... despite the things that has happened on both sides may have, Somehow the media fails to bring out the positivity in the culture, the people, the food, beaches or anything else that makes us special .... It's why when people from other countries bring up Haiti or the whole island itself... the first thing that come out people's mouths are the failures of the country and or unfortunate events.

Of course he did. Boyer marched with tens of thousands of troops less than two decades after Dessalines massacred thousands of Dominicans in Santiago and Moca after he was defeated by the French governor Ferrand, who was holding the city of Santo Domingo. Haitians made second class citizens out of Dominicans and worse during the 22 year occupation.

When I was in Haiti after the 2010 earthquake, I was able to communicate directly with the Creole-speaking locals (I speak French passably, so I was happy that I made myself understood). As an American, I was warmly received everywhere I went in that country. The omnipresent poverty was appalling, but the people's pride in their country's historical uniqueness was clear, as well (I remember a small group of children who approached me one morning, and sang their national anthem in French just for me). Unfortunately, Haiti has been poorly served both by its politicians, and by the "international community."

You can't be black and not love what Haiti as a nation stands for. Haiti and Ethiopia are just two nations to be proud of 🇭🇹🇪🇹 EDIT: Lol, at those not getting the point of this comment. Ethiopia is the only African country to successfully resist colonialism. Haiti had a revolution after the French revolution and became the first black republic. We should be proud of these countries because of how they represent black resistance to opression and dominance. Nothing to deal with their economies (which btw, Ethiopia has been in consitent growth) that's a more complex topic; its about what they represent

I've only had the chance to interact with only but a few Hatians. But when I was a kid I remember seeing these group of ppl walking on my street and I followed them to their location. My cousins and I saw like about 30 of them Kids and mixed of all kinds.. and I remember 1 man offering me Some cornstarch that they had cooked.. and I eat it :) loved it. Haiti is absolutely beautiful🥰🥰. They are the most hospitable people in the Caribbean. We all know Caribbean people are very hospitable and friendly, but Haitians over do it🥰😌. The culture is rich and the food is just mind blowing🤗🍾🥰🥰

Actually, Haiti has 3 official names, "Haiti, Quisqueya, and Bohio". All 3 of them are original names from the Natives before Colombus. And the whole island is Hispanola, whhich I hate using since it's a name from the Spanish.

I really enjoyed your playlist of A-Z on countries & their histories, it was extremely very educational & factual. I would personally like to see a bit more in-depth video on Haiti & the many influences & contributions & it's many roles that played throughout the history of the world. Especially when it involves the political viewpoints. I would also like to know more about their links tied into Simone Bolivar & his soldiers, America & Robert T. Hills letter, Alexander Barbot, Princess Marina of Greece visit to Haiti, Jean Pierre Boyer & many more. In fact it would be amazing if you were to have a more in depth video playlist on all the countries.

Haitians love Brazil! We would support Brazil over a Haitian football team in the World Cup. I was born in the US to Haitian parents, and my mom and friends made sure that I would always root for Brazil in football. LOL. I'm in my 40s now, and I will always support Brazil!
