Love to Ethiopia from Italy. Fun Fact #1: Did you guys also know that Ethiopia helped South Korea during their war against North Korea, I think correct me if I got it wrong. Fun Fact #2: In Ethiopia there are a small amount of Italian schools, I know this because I was born in Italy but I grew up to the age of 7 in Ethiopia and went to an Italian School where they basically teach you stuff but in Italian. To the Ethiopians out there I reeaaaaaallllllyyy love your culture and language, which is why I converted my religion to Orthodox Christianity, and I'd appreciate it a lot if you tell me more facts by replying to my comment. Ethiopia shall live forever

Love to Ethiopia 🇪🇹 from Armenia 🇦🇲! Fun Fact: We are both the only Apostolic Christian nations. Edit: to clarify, I mean that the Amharic people in Ethiopia have the same church as us which you Ethiopians call “Ethiopian Orthodox, which is extremely similar to our Armenian Apostolic.” , we both have VERY similar Alphabet (search it up). And we both make same style coffee. Cheers to the Best country in Africa, From Yerevan 🇦🇲

@abdi z With the exception of Oromo, all the other regions you mentioned have small pupulations, hence why the Christians make up the majority of the population. You can google that information yourself. But it doesn't really matter which religion is majority. Christianity and Islam are not that different from each other. Ethiopians of all religions have lived together for centuries without a lot of problems and that should be a source of pride.

This video is not comprehensive; it was only created to serve as a primer not to encapsulate or punctiliously describe Ethiopia in its full entirety otherwise the video would not have been this short. I recommend that you at least comprehend a modicum of a subject before discharging an opinion.

The word "ትውልደ ኢትዮጵያዊ" (Ethiopian descent) literally means that anyone who has an Ethiopian ancestor, wherever they may be born. You can't take away their genes. If you're into historical landmarks, you should definitely visit Gondar castle and Lalibela. I'm no expert on giving advice, but i wouldn't recommend retiring to this country after a 2 weeks visit, unless you have relatives there, or are married to an Ethiopian, or speak the language. Then there's the issue of ownership of property which is complex, unless you're just renting. That's just a few obstacles, but it's definitely worth visiting.

As a Somalia I went to Ethiopia last year 2019, it was my first time i been there..in Addis Ababa it was really nice place and i met friendly people..my trip has changed my perception about Ethiopia generally...as you know there have been many wars between Ethiopia and Somalia for centuries..i came to know that the problem was not really from the Ethiopian people but from the politicians who come to power which they try to pursue a fascist policies against their neighbouring Somalia. It was really different from what I thought...thanks to the people of Ethiopia i hope we will live in peace and have a mutual respect for each other. I believe if we would have been friends from the beginning we would have established a good partnership in many sectors mainly economic partnership and cultural integration where we share a long border and cultural similarities as well as our Cushitic background. Somalia would really offer Ethiopia a sea access for port and Maritime transportation for their economic backbone. Let’s just collaborate peacefully we really need each other than our differences.

Well done with this video fella, Ethiopia is *such* a difficult country to cover in just 1 video, it's so damn diverse and complex. I've been fascinated by the place for years and was lucky enough to visit a good few times when I lived in East & North Africa. I don't think there's anywhere on Earth more unique than Ethiopia, and I truly hope the current hostilities don't cause the country to fall apart, tense times.

13:25 That ”Ensete” stuff kind of reminds me of ”Pettuleipä” (”bark bread”). We actually made it once at camp school back on 7th grade, to get a feel for, how Finns persevered through ”Suuret nälkävuodet” (”the great hunger years”) of 1866-1868. I absolutely loved it, it tasted like perfectly normal wheat or oat bread, and even the dried ”pettu” (”tree bark”), itself, tasted delicious, it was like healthy potato chips. Really just the idea of using wood material for food is, what reminded me of that; otherwise the dishes have little to nothing in common. The ”pettu” was also incredibly difficult to harvest, as it’s really not the outer-most skin of the tree, itself, but the extremely thin layer just under it.

Now that your channel is much bigger than when you first started geography now, I just wanna say I think when you finish Zimbabwe, it would be so cool if you did the whole thing over again but this time visit each country. I know that might be a bit unrealistic lol but I'd just love to see you visit some of those countries. Then again there are 195 countries and I realise legal issues may get in the way but imagine how legendary it would be if you did visit each one in person!

Mmm Habesha look the same as Cushitic people. Majority of Horn of Africans Semitic or Cushitic look similar with straight noses. Using nice wedding pictures of Amhara or Tigray people’s whilst using poor rural people to show Oromos, Afars and Somalis. Why don’t you show rural Amhara and Tigray people. I smell biasness.

@Yasta Ibrahim Aweee look at that, ignorance at its finest. First of all the semitic migration happened 3000 years ago and they reached north africa and most of east africa, yet yall are dumb enough to believe that our groups were the only east africans they reproduced with? Wheew stupidity. Second of all, "old cushitic tribe" means original, you're indicating that habesha are the only old original cushites, so i guess you're right according to your logic. Third of all there are somalis/non habesha east africans with the same amount of arabic dna in them as habesha, so does that mean that they're not cushites? While the arabic dna varies from habesha to habesa from 0% to 40%, so if you can generalise two whole groups then we can generalise somalis and say that yall arent cushitic either ;). Btw eating raw meat is not worse then eating raw fish, and oromo eat raw meat too so what's tea? Yall acutally use it to offend us although it's not offensive bc you really dont have anything relevant to say, you're a sad case atp.
@diamond4270
@diamond4270 3 жыл бұрын
@Yasta Ibrahim Again, you're mistaken. You literally have no source to confirm your claim. It's not only 10 - 20% somali ppl who have semitic dna in them, again the semitic migration reached big parts of east and north africa so the fact that you still believe that two groups were the only ones in east africa they reproduced with is dumb. You don't use common sense nor logic. As I've said there are habesha who have 0%-40% semitic dna, so again if you can generalise all habesha then we can generalise all somalis and go by your logic and say that yall arent cushitic. And nobody is 100% an ethnicity, only a very few people are and somalis are not a part of those few peoples, that's general knowledge. The fact that a person has 20% semitic dna in them doesn't take away from the majority of their dna bc the majority of their dna is sub saharan. So whichever the majority of their dna belongs to is the ethnicity they are more connected to genetically. ""we made you guys eat raw meat", which part of history is that at?😂 Baby we eat raw meat the same way asians eat raw fish, nothing wrong with that but a lot of somalis are childish so i wouldn't expect anything less. You continue to show your ignorance and delusion, you don't even have enough knowledge to particpate in this convo but you represent a lot of somalis tho, i can tell you that.
@buraburee
@buraburee 3 жыл бұрын
@Yasta Ibrahim Dude, why are you guys stuck on silly stuff like raw meat and bananas? No disrespect but the moment you bring up raw meat as a premise for an argument and use it to shame people who are proud of it you start to sound like a 4th grader bully and it's challenging to take you seriously! It is very backward and uncivilized to cultivate a mindset that "hates" an entire people, and work hard to defame them with fabricated lies and childish logic on every thread over the internet. Why? Why not try complimenting eachother? We are all Africans, we are all struggling with poverty and luck of education. Wouldn't it be better if we made an enemy of poverty, all Africans as one, east or west, horn or not, rather than being dead set on making an enemy out of our neighboring tribes/people/nations??? I am Ethiopian. I can never hate any people. In fact I love every tribe I know of because every culture is beautiful, especially in our diverse Africa. I love the somali people. They are very loving, sharing, playful and overall happy people. I was in a same dorm with a somali friend in University, and I had the chance to see his family and people through his eyes. Beautiful people. Please stop the hate. Unity is always powerful!
