Mr. Geon really does not miss... The F1-8X V2 is so lovely. Between the V2 and the 722, I prefer the V2 myself. I haven't had the privilege of having an OG F1 grace my desk, but the V2 is comfy to type on.
It's always a good thing when I don't find myself thinking about the front height of a board.
I still don't have an F1 for myself, and am eagerly awaiting the F1 V2 GB. Thank you again to xsunnyd for letting me build through his impressive collection.

I think they work well! I don’t really use long poles in my personal builds. The only other time I’ve used TX LPs is in the Freedom TKL build with Zakus. These Geon Blacks are allegedly just a Zaku recolor, and the stabs do what they need to do 😎

I've been on the fence for months about which "end game" kb to get, and was leaning towards the Frog TKL since I like the idea of parts and accessories being readily available, and I loathe group buys. But thanks in no small part to this video, I am now in the FL-8X V2 group buy with a 10-12 month wait.😅 I hope mine will sound this amazing!

I have this exact same build but my alphas and space bar are just super thin for some reason. I'm using the Galatea hs with flex cuts pcb, tho. What pcb are you using?

Plate is the F1 v1.1 full aluminum plate and the PCB is the h87nu CEM version All the other specs you can find in the video description :)

the f1 v2's side profile is straight up stunning geon be cookin I still prefer the sound of og f1 though (though I definitely prefer the feel of the newer F1s, the og v1 is just way too bouncy)

OG F1 is still undefeated sound wise 😎 The lower front height on the V2 really sells it for me. I like my keyboards comfy ✨

Geon Blacks are long pole so just keep that in mind! They’re also Tecsee iirc - not sure how well the bottom housings fit for a plateless W1. If you use the align plate, it’s probably fine, but Cherry + Plateless is a cheat code

I believe it’s the CEM PCB! It was a grayish color

thoughts on the half plate vs the standard full?

No thoughts since we just built with standard full! The CEM PCB doesn’t have any flex cuts, so I imagine there would be more bounce but not a ton if we went half plate. If this client wants to do a half plate build in the future, I’ll come back with our findings 🥸📝

They’re so many TKL with centred usb-c port out there, the F2-84 is an example. The F1 supports so many aftermarket tkl pcbs like Hiney’s H87 which makes it special and convenient
