are you kidding ? they cut this to pieces , George is real pain for the first 2 mins , then he just ignores those hambone "legends" (in their own mind) and plays the song at which point the keys get quiet and the bass sorta falls in line , lucky the drums was with him , THIS WAS AWFUL !!!! worst version ever !!! watch the drummer grimace in pain at the off timing of the bass in the first minute

I thought that was Chick Corea. Hearing some of my favorite jazz guitar player. Joe P. and George are up their. Chet Atkins as well. And some others. I think I'll hear some Les Paul next. Maybe"Somewhere over the Rainbow". He does a great rendition. Or Herb Ellis.

When I first heard this back in the 70's I had no idea who it was playing. I had no idea who it was. I was in my 20's. Luckily I had a friend,, God rest his soul. I dropped to his house . He said " Breezin? George Benson. I am now near 70. I still have the album. Teach me Mr. BENSON. God Love you

I've watched this at least two dozen times and it never ceases to crack me up seeing Chick Corea playing all those conservative keyboard licks and chords on one of the biggest crossover Jazz instrumentals of the mid-1970s. Whenever I watch this I'm always on edge expecting Chick to do one of his outside, angular, harmonic Chick-isms...and it never happens. Too funny...LOL!!!

credit the composer is an instrumental song composed by American singer and musician Bobby Womack. It was originally recorded in December 1970 by the influential Hungarian jazz guitarist Gábor Szabó, in partnership with Womack himself. The song was originally released in 1971 on the Szabó's album . The song was released as a single in April 1971 in the United States and in 1972 in the Netherlands. The single reached No. 43 on the R&B chart the same year. "Breezin'" was produced by Tommy LiPuma. Bobby Womack did write some lyrics for the song but these were never officially released. However, Womack performs the song himself with the lyrics he could remember on his Raw DVD released in 2010.

@Archer3354 жыл бұрын
jose carlos Aparecido, I went to a Lee Ritenour concert back in the early eighties. Ritenour called him an “okay guitar player,” with emphasis on the word “okay.” Maybe he shouldn’t have said that, but if you know Ritenour’s history, you can’t really argue with him. Ultimately, they’re both great, in their own ways.

Lee is a, 'Great, ' guitar player. But Benson has a grove and soul that Lee could NEVER TOUCH. So, he looks at the technical aspect. Lee, a great guitarist, Benson, a LEGEND !!

@@Archer335 Well, as great as Lee Ritenour is, he ain't 'better' than George Benson, and, Benson could really, really sing great, too! I think Pat Martino is in the same class and on the same level as Benson as far as guitarists.
