Why shoot corvids?
Crows and magpies are omnivorous predators and occur across all habitats. They are major predators of ground-nesting birds, waders and song birds, consuming both eggs and young chicks.
Corvid predation particularly impacts thrushes (White, P.J.C., Stoate, C., Szczur, J. & Norris, K.J. 2014)., Research has shown that the populations of curlew, golden plover and lapwing are significantly improved by controlling corvid numbers (GWCT Research Waders on the Fringe 2010).
Crows also predate on lambs and young livestock, and can damage newly-sown cereal crops, particularly in Winter and Spring when other food sources are scarce.

My jaw simply drops when he cleanly hits birds on the wing at 60+ yds....shots most would never attempt he makes routinely. I could watch and laugh with King George Digweed all day!

I wouldn't consider the bird to be a challenging flyer (like a green wing teal or a Mourning dove) but the apparent distance he's consistently hitting them at, is amazing, especially if its typical bird 7 1/2 to 9 shot.

Killing just to kill is worthless. It promotes ignorance. But to shoot one type of animal that's numerous to preserve the life of another type is not murder, it's conservation. Mr. Digweed, I know you don't have to be concerned by all the negative comments and slander. I'm in Texas, USA. I knew a man who could shoot 80 yard shot you were making in this video and he was Champion like yourself. Those long shots you're making are very difficult. Thanks for sharing. If I could say, without being brash or out of line, I really agree with the comments about you taking better care of your health. Your still young. Please consider getting healthier for yourself and family. I lost 26 lbs in 6 months just by eating less and drinking less beer. SALUTATIONS from Texas, and thanks for the display.

He is shooting one of his target shotguns, that is why it has extractors rather than ejectors. You pull out the spent cartridges by hand and deposit them into a bucket at the clays station, or put them into a bag in order to take them home to reload. Much tidier than flinging spent hulls where they will be underfoot.

As a Clay shooter, I know what an excellent shot George is, I tried shooting Pigeon once, but I was rubbish tbh, I'm only an average shot with the clays tbh. But maybe thats the key, could it be that part of George's success with clay is down to his game and quarry experience, its certainly a great deal more difficult, I know, I've tried it. Hmmm

They say if you see two rooks on there own they are crows, if you see a flock of crows, they are rooks. I think most of them were rooks, which in my mind are fairly harmless. Feeding on earth worms and insects mostly

A tip when hunting in the woods, don’t shoot the crows as the others will recognize you and alert other wildlife. My father shot them for years out of anger only to find out he was just making it worst. They recognize faces and will alert each other as well as deer/hog and a variety of wildlife.

He shoot the crows too protect other birds and wildlife.. The crows can be very hard too the wild life and they steal a loot of eggs from pheasants, ducks, pigeons and so on.. We do the same in Denmark. He is shooting a Italian Perrazzi O/U. World Class Gun :-)

mrj871 What a bunch of bullshit! Crows are living their normal lives as part of the ecosystem. They eat a bit of whatever they can find. Where is the crime there? More often they help us by eating rodents that infest farm fields. Perhaps we should shoot humans who destroy habit and kill pheasants, ducks, pigeons and so on.. God it is so frustrating sharing the planet with people who are idiots!

Hello Marc Roberts, I totally agree with you. I think the problem is, the "normal" people are not educated enough over the facts of land live or the country side. i am a licenced hunter from Germany and here we have the same problems with these people. Everything that didnt fit into their way of living is considered as "bad" or "evil". Especialy when it is connected to guns and hunting or shooting. they have no problem with buying shitty meat from the supermarket, but dont know how it its "made"

I think the world needs more environmentally friendly facilities and energy, plus vegan sandwiches. I am a proponent of renewable energy, such as wind farms, where the machines have a 200 meter span, or 'bird choppers' as they are known around here. Just put an environmentally friendly wind farm near your farm, and the bird shooting thing will become unnecessary.
