Mma will never take the place of the sweet science of boxing to me. George was a true warrior. Nobody could punch harder and nobody could take punishment like him. And his brain isn't damaged at all from it

Of the trio of great heavyweights from the same era, only the most frightening of the three is still alive and enjoying the adoration of boxing fans. I hope he lives forever.

George was a brooding nasty looking piece of work when he fought Ali. He would be your favourite Uncle now, no contest. You could say that Ali (and The George Foreman grille) made him the great guy he is today, hope he is around for many years to come ! Respect Champ :+)

From a pickpocket to an olympic champion, an world champion, and also probably the greatest loser of all time, in that match in Kinsasha, and by now an established respected rich funny pleasant successful businessman with more than 10 kids, and lots of grandchildren. This has been the life of George Foreman, absolutely amazing.

He is right though. Boxing dwarfs MMA still today. That's never going to change.

+Eziokilla9595 I can't sit through 10 minutes of a UFC match. But I can watch 12 rounds of Barrera, Ray Leonard, or Hearns all day... It is all preference. We can be glad they both exist.
@blakdust38 жыл бұрын
Like he said we can all live on the same planet but we don't know if it will change, boxing is like 2500 years old an MMA is only 22 years old, MMA is growing so fast it will easily pass boxing if it keeps up. I like both sports but good thing about MMA is there is none of this fight 5 bums in between real fights you don't get to pick your fights and there isn't 57 belts.

Good video - sorry to be Mr correct but at 0:42 seconds it should say "losing" not "loosing".

"Is boxing loosing popularity because mixed martial arts?" In only eight words, this question manages to be a clinic in illiteracy. "Loose" means not tight. The word does not even exist as a verb/gerund, as it is incorrectly used here. That would have been "loosening." The proper word, however, is "losing," which means doing the opposite of winning, gaining, or adding to. Finally, the preposition "of" is omitted between the words "because" and "mixed." Thus, the question should read, ""Is boxing losing popularity because of mixed martial arts?" That which is posted for the public to read or view is a quasi publication, and should adhere to minimal linguistic and journalistic standards.
