This must be the best slugfest fight of all time!! Ron Lyle went toe to toe with Forman all the way until George finally knocked him out!! This was True Grit by both fighters!! Unforgetable era in heavyweight Boxing!! Shere Grit and power!!

Liston and these two are my most favourite boxers. This is the most memorable fight I have ever watched. Such a brutal slugfest. Both men gave their all in this one.

That was a spectacular slugfest. When Foreman returned to the ring 10 years later his ability to take a punch somehow improved. I don’t recall him being knocked down during his return to the ring. I do recall he took a beating from Holyfield but he never went down.

After knocked out by Ali in 1973, I notice that George Foreman has been knockdown here vs Ron Lyle and then vs Jimmy Young he suffered knockdown too and loss

When Ali beat Foreman, i dont think he was hurt, just exhausted. If you look at the punches, Ali barely hit him. I mean I love Muhammad Ali but those punches did not put Foreman down it was definitely the exhaustion.

George was in poor shape at this point as well though wasn't he? Pretty sure it came after his match with Ali and he had lost his form as well as body. Can see he has put on some weight here. This is a 50 50 match really. On another day, Lyle could've won as well.

Big George was totally done when he went down at the end of the 4th round. If that happens at anty other time in the round, Lyle wins the fight. Literally, Forman was saved by the bell.

Forman ne serait pas allé au sol si il boxait les mains hautes, mais malgré que je trouve lyle meilleure boxeur forman montre sa capacité de récupération et sa puissance de frappe exceptionnelle mêmes si lyle avant fait un retournement tout aussi impressionnant face à shavers.

Styles make matchups - foreman was holding his left hand too low and Lyle's best punch was his overhand right so he was able to land quite a few bombs and put Foreman in some serious trouble... Guess we learned Foreman could take a punch from this fight though
