Thumbs up! This one wasn't destroyed by the yellow & Red McDonalds ad that ESPN displays. Only ESPN can destroy a great match like this.

Foreman was only a pro 11 months when he had this fight come on and was already fighting a top 10 heavyweight . Foreman was the only heavyweight to stop Peralta in the rematch in 71 also .

Foreman was never a technical sound fighter. He was big and strong and maybe he thought that was good enough. The punch-combination--putting punches together--was almost never there or awkward at best. Not much of a defense to speak of, head movement, nothing, and we can see how this guy here (whom I never heard of before) could land punches on Foreman's face with no difficulty. The way of blocking punches is not something of a beauty either but...to his credit, he was one of the hardest punchers and that gave him world championship.

In this fight you clearly understand that Foreman will be in trouble against a skill fighter he rely only on his huge power

@@randallmacphee7260 When someone say Foreman is unskilled they fail to notice his ability to cut the ring off and also fail to realize Ken Norton was a highly skilled fighter who arguably beat Ali in 2 of 3 fights and was simply demolished Norton in 3 rds.

@@antoniomosley9410 Foreman is the most underrated fighter in history . When he lost to Young and Ali it was caused by a fluke of circumstances . The rope a dope would only work once on Foreman , who wasn't used to fighting more than two rounds ; should have been a rematch . I cant help but wonder how long he would have held the championship if he would not have retired and waited for another chance . The fact that he was defeating world class fighters at the age of 48 , diminished by age , yet still able to win by out pointing and out boxing them is being completely overlooked by these people who claim he wasn't skilled . He became the oldest champ in history ; these people need to start comparing records . Forman is the greatest heavyweight in history If he would have fought Holyfield at about the time he beat Cooney , he would have won . He went through some aging changes after 1991 . He took to long , but still was good enough to train harder and become the champ anyway .

Lol dude! Look at how unskilled freaking Wilder was. The modern heavyweights look good because they have no competition.

Foreman never was and never became a skilled boxer. In this fight he was nothing but clumsy and tiresome to watch.

He more than often swung wide. But still got a gold medal in the olympic games in Mexico City and world champion twice. Defeating Michael Moorer to become the oldest heavyweight champion at age 45.

He kicked off his career with an Olympic gold medal. Captured the title twice defeating Joe Frazier (twice), Ken Norton, and Michael Moorer along with so many others amassing the largest number of career wins out of any heavyweight champion. He gave Muhammed Ali the toughest fight of his career even gave Holyfield a war as an old man. That’s why he’s one of the greatest.

His jab was excellent. He had some skill, granted not as much as an Ali.
