I LOVE IT! I’ve never heard this song before but it’s so fun. The first time through I’ll simply listen plus make sure I’m familiar with all the chords and strum patterns. Usually I just dive right in but today, before my head explodes, I’ll grab my second cup of coffee, tune up and test the water. lol Thanks Stu and enjoy the warm weather of Florida. We had our first snowfall of the season yesterday. Take care,

Oh! Thank you for the strum demo!!! I need to approach strumming by different means. I kind of knew how to do one of those already with an arpeggiated strum and a pluck. (the basic swing strum) Rather then babble, just saying I think I can play a bit more things that used strumming parts. Thanks!!💖 Never heard this song before btw. Going to check it out.

Hey Jazz cat, I’ve caught a good few of your videos over the years. Nice to hear you doing this one😎👍. What did George Formby have in common with Kieth Flint from the Prodigy? Both were seriously talented motorcycle racers and could’ve made a living at it, if they hadn’t stuck with music 🇬🇧.

@@UkuleleZen Thanks. I bought a concert banjolele since I last wrote but unfortunately finding it very hard to play ... with hindsight a concert version wasn't a good idea as the strings nearest the tuning end are 'high' off the fret board (neck?) and seems very narrow too so my stubby fingers don't seem to fit. Might end up selling it and getting a different one. :)

George appeared in films through the 30s and 40s. He was the highest paid UK entertainer of his day. He entertained the troops during WW2, over three million of them, keeping spirits up. And like you say, a massive influence on the next generation of UK popular musicians, particularly George Harrison, who eventually owned Formby’s banjo ukulele. Several of his songs are quite cheeky/double entendre !!

I got a question but about the video: don't worry be happy. You use the patern DDU DU with C, F, and Dmin. But wich fingers do you use. Because u got some nails and i know that it can sound a lot different and it is different than when i play. I use de dump for down and the first finger for up. Thank you for all those awesome videos that are much better then the rest on youtube!! And sorry for my vocabulary im not very good.
