I love this song, Summertime - along with just about everything else Gershwin wrote. He died way too young! My mother, who had studied voice at the Cincinnati Conservatory with Doris Mary Ann Kappelhoff, used to sing it while doing house work.

I'm actually a complete metalhead, but I am going through some books to prepare for next year's jazz class at my school. The book has a bunch of songs that I should listen to, like this one. I must say, this is the first time I enjoyed "studying."

Such a great song. It lends itself to so many interpretations, blues-jazz-rock-rap, from banjo to sax, to me in the shower. This is a beautiful rendition. :>)

Sento tanta nostalgia. O bella estate, scandita dai teneri raggi di mezzodì, sei tu che mi manchi. Quella bella estate malinconica, fatta di sofferenza per il proprio presente e ansia per il proprio futuro. Questa melodia ne faceva da protagonista.

dolcissime e struggenti note che mi penetrano sempre nel profondo dell'anima ed hanno il potere di rinnovare da anni, questa sensazione. Uno fra i più bei pezzi musicali, almeno per me, stati scritti. Video molto adatto a consolidare le mie sensazioni
