Kind of funny how George got a call to join the Mercedes junior program in a bathroom and then got a call to fill in for Hamilton in a bathroom too.

What a talent he is, I really hope he gets his chance in Mercedes in the future, you can just see by how he’s performing in such a bad car that he’s so fast and a natural driver. All my luck to George, hopefully in the future you will be able to win races and world championships

HE's the most consistent(Fact)

Good to see that Williams is much better than last years, at least during qualification. Two times George missing Q3 by just 0.1-0.2 seconds, able to beat teams like Renault or Toro Rosso. Now you can see his undeniable top talent. Come on George 😎✌🏻🏎🏎

I can understand at the moment it must be frustrating seeing his mates scoring podiums and points but he is already learning how to lead a team at his young age which will be more benificial in the future than a couple of good results now.

Am I the only one who doesn't want him to go to merc and instead bring Williams back to its former glory days???? Like of Williams works out its aero and other car problems, George would be the perfect driver to bring that dream to reality. That would make an incredible comeback story for not just Williams but Russell himself. Just a thought

The guy is clearly ahead of Albon and Norris I think, he just needs the car to prove it. GP3 champ, F2 champ, was already driving at an E-sports level in the lockdown period. He just has speed and adaptability. Whether it's Hamilton when he retires or Bottas a bit earlier if he can't keep up good enough performances, George should be frontrunner to get the seat.

I agree with George seeing the drivers faces would be a great exchange for their having to have more enclosed protection. I think they should go to for closed canopies like fighter jets. Fighter jets always have cool looking canopies and with a fully enclosed cockpit they could have an open face helmet.

To think that such a talented guy and perhaps a future world champion was so close to not being in F1! So much depends on luck, contacts and money in this sport, makes you wonder about all the talent we never got to see.

Brilliant Driver, George Russel, has made his mark and will be there when Williams make it. Agree that he will be a world champion, maybe even Williams world champion in a couple of years. Should get the Mercedes seat in the future and I hope Mercedes is still the team to beat when he gets there. Have to say that Alex Albon has not improved as much as George Russel. Agree that as a driver George Russel is more complete than most of the new drivers, he makes the best of what he has. I hate the saying and I would never normally use it... but George Russel is one of the only people I've known of that actually gives "110%"

George Russel: a great driver

I don't feel that George is 'stuck' driving a Williams but rather they provide him the opportunity to drive in F1 until which time Toto or whoever will be in charge of the Mercedes F1 team has an open seat for him. Claire Williams says she won't stand in George's way if he gets an offer to drive for a top team, even if George is still under contract. I believe she has a great appreciation for what George contributes to improving the Williams car and that she truly wants him to achieve his dreams, even if it means leaving Williams at some point in the future. The ties between Claire Williams and Toto and Susie Wolff are pretty strong.

Am I the only want who wants George to stay at Williams ? I get that he's desperate to be in that Merc seat, however I think George bringing Williams back to where it once was would be.. a bigger achievement ? That also depends on the team's effort. It's looking better for Williams, with George consistently joining Q2 and both drivers in Q2 at Imola this year. This is more of a personal preference, I like to do things the hard way because if I successfully complete that task, I'd feel a lot more satisfied and fulfilled. But I'll respect his decisions and cheer him on in whatever he does.
