Sure is mine I love to watch his superior talent. I love his singing, playing , showmanship and stories. I only wish I could see him in person He seems like a nice guy too from comments. Love ya George.

If you actually play slide, and set your sound up like this, it sings in your bones, your heart, your soul. Old George knows what he's doing well enough.

Always love his stuff. He's under rated. People are always about Clapton ( who is good) but 'ole George is great.

Man how can you not like this stuff?

George is a guitar virtuoso & he says he's nothing special OMG...such a gorgeous, humble human being. George epitomises the American sound - a mixture of rhthym & blues, jazz, rock 'n roll, boogie woogie. Sexy as a hot corndog on a stick and when he plays that guitar & sings...you can FEEL the spirit of America just coming through. I'm Australian but have loved his music since I first heard it. I'm a country music singer but II love all the same old music that influenced George. Somehow he's picked out the very best sounds of American music & rolled it all up into one and then has come out with his own unique sound. That is musical genius ;-) People who appreciate GOOD music LOVE George. He's worked so hard to get where he has - I take my hat off to him....he is without a doubt, one of the world's very best...

Definitely agree with steverino47 on this. SRV the greatest (behind Hendrix, of course) of all time, but Thorogood rocks this one out better.
@angelaterry75877 жыл бұрын
it may be the style but i always prefered gary moore over stevie..
@lop00pollop00pol11 жыл бұрын
a different take, but I love it, the brass makes a refreshing change from the threat of lead guitar entering the realms of wah wah wank world. (don't get me wrong, I LOVE GUITAR!!!!)
@charlaville76583 жыл бұрын
My daughter is 16 and plays country, rock & rhythm & blues on her Gretsch guitar - she recently brought a wah wah pedal - not sure about it yet LOL...we get a much better sound just using an old guitar slide.

And so what??? There's a lot of people that loves this song, with or without brass!! why should I ask B.B. KING? The most important is to like a song or not!!

Sorry but there's lots of room for Brass in the blues, just ask B.B. KIng

"CAnt stand all that brass shit. Wish he'd stick to the dirty 3 piece" Interesting comment indeed !! But just try to do it yourself LOL.......greaserleo

SRV is the greatest electric guitarist ever, IMO. But Stevie's recording of "The Sky is Crying" is NOT one of his best. It was teen released during his lifetime...Stevie would have re-recorded it first. Always preferred Thorogoods version.
@opiumtrail703210 жыл бұрын
SRV is not the greatest electric guitarist IMHO. There are many that surpass SRV,but that's just my opinion.
@angelaterry75877 жыл бұрын
gary moore!!!
@01mrlek7 жыл бұрын
Not even in the top ten. Grow a brain. George is a performer not a technician and it is great. SRV had mildly good technical skills.

He is not try to be Stevie Ray Vaughn... That would suck. But I do love Stevie Ray Vaughn cover of this tune also.
@charlesbireland1780 Жыл бұрын
It is in fact a cover of the slide master Elmore James. James and Willie Dixon wrote The Sky Is Crying in about 20 minutes one rainy day in Chicago.
