So the pre use SST has been performed, so where do you find the the main screen to start programming the ventilator. In this video, George goes over the basic settings of the ventilator when choosing to ventilate a patient.

Many thanks for all your video. I am back to ICU again after 4 years of being away from ICU, and I was almost forgot all about ventilator settings. Watching all your videos make my life easier in ICU.

Aw George! You were my instructor 20 years ago and you haven't changed (except age comes for us all.) Won't forget you yelling at me for sleeping in class.

Great video George...it was helpful. I am not familiar with this vent.

Glad it was of help. The 980 has been around for a few years and is the replacement to the 840. Pretty much the same 840 vent features on a new and improved platform and display. They've incorporated more information on the screen which can make it a bit more cluttered when first using it.

What if someone has breath holding or central apnea? Would you be able to click spontaneous time mode? What settings and numbers would you do for it to breathe comfortably like at a low pressure incase someone finds it hard to fall asleep.

Please do a video using the PB 980 that shows how to place a patient on an SBT trial and if they fail how to immediately place them back on previous settings. Thank you!

Great video, question how would we change the vent from adult to peds or neonate?
@teddybear11542 жыл бұрын
That’s a good question I would try by IBW input. But we use Servo for our peds/neo population.

What's the damages of this ventilator please

So let me get this straight, there is a company called COVIDIEN that makes ventilators. Coincidence, I think not!

So, were those settings good for an OD patient?

Increasing the sensitivity on this ventilator will it make it hard or easier to trigger?
@GeorgeORRT5 жыл бұрын
As you increase the sensitivity for both triggers (flow triggering and pressure triggering) it becomes harder for a patient to trigger a breath. This is specific to this ventilator.
@lcortiz26535 жыл бұрын
@@GeorgeORRT Thank you, I was told that the 840's trigger setting was different from the rest.
@GeorgeORRT5 жыл бұрын
@@lcortiz2653 The Servo I is the one that is different . When it reverts into flow cycling, the higher the number the more sensitive it becomes and when you look at the number itself. To top it off, it's not even referencing an actual flow value. Still a great ventilator though.

Do you know the rules for each alarm setting in English?
@ivettemolina37195 жыл бұрын
You should change the wave form back to ramp for in the square wave form it will drastically increase the peak airway pressure.

Can this machine also be setup at home rather than a hospital?

no you need high pressure oxygen and medical air connections
