This was the battle of the summer! I am a big NOAB fan over the years. GAMB has grown on me the past few years, and I must say, Georgia Mass Band is built different than these other programs. 🔥 I don’t know how they do it because N.O is about the same loud but GA is so clean and fresh. I see N.O is kind of beefing their sound up this year. Great battle both of you.

Ts was REALLY close and I loved every minute of the field battle. Nice work GAMB but Im gonna go with my home team NOASB. Y’all def got the stands though, I’ll give y’all that.

Both bands were outstanding on the field and formidable opponents FOR SURE. Both bands did what they do and did it well. I got GAMB with the Dub on the field and here’s why. ARRANGEMENTS! Not only were the arrangements more complex, but they were PERFECTLY executed this year (without any noticeable tempo issues). GAMB really cleaned that up in my opinion. Last point, GAMB stayed true to their identity (finesse with power) on the field and did not get sucked into a battle trying to match watts with NOASB. GREAT STRATEGY! GAMB is DIFFERENT! That symphonic sound, the dynamics, using the woodwinds, lower brass, crescendo, decrescendo, crispy clear, and clean cut offs and attacks were on display for all to see and hear and that is what GAMB specializes in. They also played some original and unique arrangements. GAMB book is DEEP AF. As a bandhead and admittedly a GA Boy (probably some bias) GAMB gave me Morris Brown vibes . They like a FAMU, BUT with that GEORGIA DAWG in em, like Mo Brown use to be (they would crank when it’s time to crank), but will go down the line on ya and keep running a clinic with ballets if they sense you can’t respond with SOME MUSIC. There were times that NOASB was more powerful and to their credit they stuck to their identity, but just POWER ain’t enough when you battling with GAMB. Also, no one can say GAMBs arrangements had a bunch of whole notes this year. Their arrangements this year were straight heat and full of runs, melodies, and complex chord structures, and call and response . NOASB was VERY Clean on the field. GAMB in my opinion was just cleaner this time…Watching these two battle is must see TV and styles make fights (so it may be a preference thing) but in my opinion GAMB was cleaner this time and original (GAMB is GAMB) they don’t sound like everyone else and they executed the hell out of their songs…GAMB with the Dub for me (just one band heads opinion) and explanation.

as a musician i appreciate the chops you have to have to play noasb music at the level they do. very busy parts….gamba music is very beginner friendly to say the least. both sound good but the difference in complexity is obvious

I haven’t watched the whole battle yet- I’m a few songs into the field battle- I’m assuming by these comments that GAMB turned it up in the stands though, because on the field they are getting yammed on👀. It’s crazy how N.O. Matches GAMBs power and they are considerably smaller.

This mf was a snoozefest😂😂😂. Gamb won but it was super close because no elite songs were played🤷🏽‍♂️. The arrangements are decent at best and it seems like all the good songs were being saved for the stands.
