There academic standards are too high for most also most big time players want to play at Georgia or another top school not Georgia tech. They are still a decent team though. Probably just needs better coaching and more consistency.

@@thomasuga5708 UGA and GT have roughly the same academic standards in 2023 - 4.0 GPA and 32 ACT define their incoming classes. Also, please explain how Notre Dame, Michigan, USC, UNC, UVA, Duke, Stanford, Cal, and several other universities with higher academic standards than GT have competed with much greater success.

@@fitzwilliamdarcy5263 well to be fair I think most really good teams basically buy all their talent. Georgia tech doesn’t spend money on football like some of the teams on the list. Also they are pretty evenly matched up with a lot of the teams u listed. Michigan being the only school that’s raised it’s football standards to that of teams like Georgia and Alabama. I think Michigan has more money to put towards football. players will get better recognition at other top schools if they are good enough to get accepted. If they do get accepted they’d rather go where they know they have a chance to play for something big. The players that are extremely intelligent and skilled at football are most likely aiming for the nfl. What’s your best chance at nfl? Playing at a top school with extremely high competitiveness and football recognition. They get good players yes just not as many as top teams. I def have to say they looked really good against Georgia compared to years past. But they will never regularly compete at that level.

Look at the roster again. There were several key guys rested for Georgia. Having said that, Tech played well against the Dawgs. This rivalry reminds me of Ravens and Steelers smash mouth football.

We sat our top 4 players on offense, we were simply trying to get the W and get out. As for the defense, GT simply schemed a great plan with motion. They knew UGA was much bigger so they used their aggressiveness against us. Brent Key is respected by Kirby for a reason! See you next season.
