actually furina's english va is next level amazing and the way the whole genshin coomunity is obsessed with her is 100% based. she did such a great job. hope you'll be amazed with her too when going through the story quest

The fact Navia has a Gun-brella automatically makes me love her.

One thing to note is that Furina is not a judge, she is more like a VIP spectator in court. That judge mantle is reserved for Neuvillette.

Ray Chase, Neuvi VA, really did an amazing job. I believe he tweeted after he recorded all his 4.0 lines he asked to redo them because he didnt do his character justice and made his voice too harsh because he didnt understand neuvis character in the beginning

I’m just going to say it right now, the Fontaine Story is probably and single-handedly the *best* Archon Quest Genshin has put it. It really makes you love every character it has to offer and it goes with a more “show not tell” aspect that really improves on from the previous archon quest. It’s genuinely amazing and I can’t wait for you to check it out And also you’ll probably love Neuvillette and Furina *even more* after the story

Lynette's English VA stands out a bit, mostly because for whatever reason she received direction to portray Lynette as "introverted but sociable" instead of "emotionless girl". Also, she's the first catgirl we've had who meows well enough (again, English VA specifically) that actual cats pay attention.

I didn't like Furina at the start but after completing the quests i love her. It was like 180 turn. Her story is amazing and unlike any other archon.

Lyney is a very strong bow character like really really strong. His story and his character also has so much depth it’s amazing ❤

At least IMO Fontaine has been by far the best content in the game to date. Archon quests were incredible, side stories were fun, and Lynette was free. And the French aesthetic was beautifully done.

Neuvillette my fav Fontaine character, Ray Chase is doing a beautiful work voicing him but I would say from 3.0 and ongoing the voice acting on many characters is extraordinary

Navia plays actually for crystalize, so full geo team isn't the best solution

Fontaine is definitely the darkest region so far, they made it realistically dark rather than what the other regions had going on. It's by far my favorite in every way, from the archon plot to the characters and even the exploration and the puzzles. I have Neuvillette (he's my main now), Wriothesley, Navia, Lynette and Freminet so far and I'm definitely planning on getting Clorinde when they release her. I think you'll really enjoy the fontaine arc, just be aware of some possibly triggering topics since Fontaine gets dark. The way they nerfed Wrio's catalyst kit is by having his punches too strong, so he breaks the frozen reaction. It really would have been a bit too op otherwise, especially in comparison to other Fontaine characters.

In Furina's demo at 37:52 she is playing the role of the other Archons. Nahida, Venti, Raiden and Zhongli.

Furina has completely redefined meta teams, especially with the new artifact sets. Fontaine mechanics offer a lot related to HP changing. So many characters have features to lower or raise HP to give better stats. Which makes me wonder if Dehya was intended to play well with them. Nieuvillette is just OP main damage. And Hoyo definitely made Navia as interesting as possible to get people to consider Geo again. A lot of these new characters could probably be main characters in their own right.

When you do the Fontaine quest (which you should because it's peak), I suggest you do Neuvilette's Story Quest between Act2 and Act 3. It's not necessary but it adds a lot to him and his attitude towards the people of Fontaine in the later chapters.

Every time I see Furina's character demo I vibrate with how amazing it is.

Navia and Furina are my favourite characters in Fontaine. They're actually both incredibly strong gameplay-wise.

Fontaine is a really eye candy of a city. And I really love the aquabus. I have a tendency to hop onto them to listen Aeval and Elphane's tour-guide commentary again and again. You should log back into the game to check out the city, aquabus and the new underwater experience. You don't have to force yourself to do the daily grind. Just dip into it a bit and get out if it's not your cup of tea.

I would love to see you play the Archon quests of Fontaine! It's probably the best well written main quest of the game, and would be fun to see your reactions to some of the iconic moments.

I think my absolute favorite part about Fontaine is how time and time again, it hammers in the theme of "Do not believe everything you see" because deception lies deep, even with first impressions. It's a running theme too with the characters presented (Like how you said Wriothesley's impression is he's a strict, no-nonesense type of Warden) and how a lot of my first impressions with these characters did NOT end up being what I thought of them after going through their stories and through the AQ. So it's really gonna be interesting on your end if you playthrough the AQ and then rewatch your own reaction and see how much of your impressions were spot on and or blatantly skewed thanks to how the trailer presented them. Genshin had always a darker story but a lot of it is backloaded in World Quests/Books/Artifact Descriptions and the like. Fontaine was the first one to actually bring that dark storytelling frontloaded (even Sumeru seemed a bit more lighthearted and had a perfect Disney-esque ending imo) so I'm sure that's why people are saying it got darker. It didn't, it just gave that dark tone into a quest that everyone would be playing (as not everyone does World Quests and read the lore) But yeah, Fontaine became my absolute favorite not only for the underwater mechanics but for the story and character development in general. I envy you cause if I could replay the entirety of the AQ again without knowledge of it, I'd love to be able to cause man it was a wild ride from beginning to the end.

Throughout Genshin's existence, I've had some very strong and passionate love for some characters. Of course there are SEVERAL that I adore, and with Furina's introduction at 4.0 I put her in that list of "other characters I adore." I do recall a HEAVY negative reaction to Furina originally from a good chunk of the community. But she's gotten a COMPLETE 180 since then. She's loved. And for me, she's outshone every character in the game. In fact, she's risen to levels that match characters from other games and shows to me. She's in my top 5 characters of all time now. I love her

Furina was actually my first and only character I got to C6. I love playing her in my team.

Furina my Beloved. i came back after 2.5 years of not playing and fixed my account soley because of her. I was one of the few who loved her back in 4.0 too, back when a lot of peoplr didnt like her. I just love her so much and is the reason i came back to playing the game. my first C1 5* character and im aiming for C6. in short , i just love Furina. while im here might aswell share some fun things about furinas trailer. -in the swing section wheree furina is swinging around, you can see the the background change from green to teal to violet and finally yellow, it represents sumeru, mondstadt, inazuma and liyue, you can even see the audience change to represent the NPCs of each nation. -to pile on it, Furina is also mimicking the archjons of each nation. -1st one being Nahidas swinging animstion -2nd being Venti eith the Lyre -3rd being Ei's meditstion pose when we first enter her PoE -lastly being Zhongli where she throws Mora, to represent Zhonglis ability to create Morw, or to poke fun at him for being broke. -you can also hear the in game chareacter switching sounds as she transitions from the next swing. -I wont go deep into the film section as it is referencing the archon quest up until 4.1, but some of it being that: -Childe running away from the cops is a reference to traveller running away from the milelith in liyue, before we get saved by Childe -Navia glaring at neuvilette while being held by her 2 followers is referencing the signora scene with Venti where Neuvilette is traveller being held by 2 fatui agents while signors kicks venti -Lyney trapped in the water tank is similar to how Nahida is trapped in the Akademiya -Clorinde and Wriothesley showdown could also be interpreted as either Traveller vs Ei, or Ei vs the Shogun. -theres also another secret regarding the film scene but i'll only give a hint: "Childe is running away instead of fighting back like he normally would." lets just say that the rest of the scenes have a similar pattern to this. -last one being something you have to see for yourself, watch the background during the singing part, its hilarious. two of which i can only say is Childe dropkicking someone and Lyney and Lynette besting someone while they are down. its hilarious and great. Everything about it like with the secrets and foreshadowing it has weaved into the entire thing while presented as something fun is just amazing and kts basically my most fsvourite trailer so far.

All the 5 stars since Fontaine's launch are pretty great, though i dont have some of them, i can say that Furina and Navia are a blast to play with. With Navia, its like a geo revival we needed.

I’ve gotten all the Fontaine characters and my best is probably my Neuvillette and I’m currently building Navia and yes, her weapon is an axe but she’s considered a claymore user and she is Geo who’s best damage comes from her charge eskill

More than just French culture, I think it's more accurate to say European pre-WW1 culture, of which French was the most.. opulent and therefore representative. But that's why you see a mix of cultures. It's the same as how Mondstadt is not technically Germany, but rather medieval fantasy Europe. For the accents, I say it won't make sense thematically to have significant difference in accents in Genshin, unlike Reverse 1999. Apparently the entire Teyvat shares the same roots of language, so while there may be new words in each region to name local stuff, there won't be distinctive accents. It's probably a design choice, but I do think it makes a lot more sense that we have no problems communicating with the locals in every region when traveling. Further explanation for how that works: It's like.. imagine someone who learned French first, then learned English later in adult life. There would be a heavy French accent in their English, and that would be passed down in the region. That versus someone who learned English first, then learned a few French words. The entirety of Teyvat is the second state, except replace French with the local words of their region.

I really hope to see your reaction to Fontaine archon quest. And i really do recommend not to watch the version trailers for fontaine until you finish quest. They have HUGE spoilers, especially 4.2 trailer. I promise, this quest is freaking dark and sad. I was literally sobbing in the end, despite that i never did cry playing archon quests. This will be a mindblowing adventure, you betcha :)

Fontaine is the first archon quest that went hard with all of its shit up front. Even Sumeru was really iffy about showing its dark and serious side but um. Yeah Fontaine literally brings up a characters backstory about almost being sold as a sex slave point blank in the main quest.

Fun fact: Furina's demo had 2 parts basically about the other archons. The part where she was swinging was her teasing the other archons (ex. she was sitting on the swing the way Raiden was sitting in Euthymia for one, and the last one was her throwing mora to really tease on Zhongli not having mora, and the background colors of her swings are colors of the other archons too), and the other part where there were other characters acting and Furina taking pictures of them was basically mimicking what happened in the previous archon quests (ex. Childe running away from melusine = Traveler running away from Liyue guards, Lyney being trapped in a water cage = Nahida trapped in her cage) It was brilliant

Fontaine accents are weird because playable characters all have american accents and then only a few npcs have british ones. No french accents in sight rip. The great thing about navia is that she is great despite being geo. Unlike Itto for example who usually runs mono geo Navia behaves fare more like most other more generic dps characters, that care about at least one reaction. You mentioned zhong li, he is definetly one of his best team mates so that's already great. Apart from that you just want to have any kind of of field elemental application that can be crystalized (pyro, hydro, electro, and cryo) so you have plenty of supports to choose from. One of her most popular teams is: Herself, Zhongli, Bennett and Xiangling. Xiangling you can obtain for free and benett is currently available on the rate up banner at the time of writing this if you don't have him already. But honestly any other of fielder works, because all navia essentially cares about is spamming the crystalize reaction to boost the damage of her shotgun And let me tell you: that gun is a f*cking Bazooka. It hits incredibly hard. So all in all, she is definetly someone you won't regret pulling for. And if you couldn't tell from this overly long comment, yes I'm a big fan and if you plan to play the archon quest you may see for yourself as to why that is :)

Ive been active since version 1.0 and Neurvillette is the first ever male character i pulled for. His VA and character direction were just THAT good.

Navias Weapon is a Claymore, but yes its the very first Weapon in the Game for a playable Character with a entirely "new" and different Design, also her Weapon is called "Verdict" For her Elemental Skill she has her "Gunbrella" a hidden gun inside her Umbrella (which acts more like a Shotgun with Geo Projectiles) and they revived Crystalize reaction with her. The more crystalize shards you collect, the stronger her Gunbrella shots are (up to 11 can be collected for maximum Damage) You can get even without her new 4 piece artifact set and a half-decent build and level 7 to 8 talents 120k to 220k hits with her Gunbrella and maximum Shardshots and it might be stronger with a really good build, Level 10 talents and her new 4 piece set bonus on her ^^

Because of her kit, Navia actually benefits more from just 1 other geo character on a team and 2 other characters who's elements can crystalize in the geo reaction. She uses crystals made from crystalize to empower her elemental skill which is a super strong shot from her gun umbrella. The more crystals she picks up (six is the max) the stronger the shot from the umbrella is. So you wouldn't need to build any more geo characters for her.

I really can't say anything major about Furina without getting into spoilers, but unlike most people I liked her from the start, but not for the same reasons i just ADORE her now. She has an incredible character development, easily my favourite archon (sorry Zhongli and Nahida you're gonna have to step down)

Quick note, Navia isnt like all the other geo's, she doesnt want a mono geo team with zonghli, albedo, and gorou(gorou is almost useless with her), she scales fully with atk% not defense, all her kit goes arround the crystalized reaction, she absorbs the crystalized reactios up to 6 and use them as the munition of her gun-brella, so for the moment her best option is her with albedo, bennet and other character to help her create the crystals, like fischl, furina(bis), etc

Althought Wrio is a good character with good team options (quite strong in some, his damage is good but he kinda has a Constellation bait to actually make him perfect without a powerful healer), the reason why people used to say Cryo Catalysts would be op is actually because... they would be able to walk on large body of water... that's it. Very stupid reason. Which is quite funny, because while, yes you can... Furina can also walk on water. At normal speed or running, without spamming attacks, no actual cooldown.

The new characters have all been pretty good. even if they havent been too impressive, they've at least been interesting and niche. Like Freminet doesn't seem too interesting at first, but i feel like his combos flow better than other claymore characters and he has a pressure mechanic to make it interesting.

Funny enough, I came back to the game just for Navia and she showed up twice in one 10 pull for me! Genshin really wants me to come back fully. Lol Also Navia's Gun-brella is such a fun thing to do. A Geo shotgun in the face.

I can see that you still have the idea that Genshin's gacha is a seven-headed monster each version gives you the opportunity to collect at least 60 pulls, getting a 5 star is not and has never been difficult

In my opinion Navia has full brought a new breath of life to Geo. An absolute game changer for geo characters going forward.

I wouldn't say Raiden's relationship with the people was very negative. Ayaka told us from the beginning most people were content with the status quo and didn't even care about the Vision Hunt Decree. There were a subset of people who were upset by that, but even Kokomi said it was only the VHD that made them push back against the Shogun's views and orders. Overall she's well-revered, which she realized during her second quest was not all that deserved.

navia is actually designed to be in a HALF Geo team, not a Mono-Geo team. If two of your characters are Hydro/Cryo/Pyro/Electro, she gets extra attack.

While the tendency is to try and draw a direct comparison between each region and a real country, in some cases I don’t think it’s that simple. Obviously Liyue and Inazuma have their specific equivalents, I tend to feel more like Monstadt is a bit like a mix of Eastern Europe and Fontaine is a mix of Western Europe… especially in the case of Fontaine I’ve noticed that blending of cultures. I know Monstadt has been usually associated with Germany, but I’ve also seen people from other parts of Eastern Europe say that Monstadt looks exactly like where they live as well. I’m no expert, though… just the impression I have now. ☺️

Among all the archons, i was convinced that Nahida is my number one in terms of character. But Furina is such an amazing character that i dont know which one is my favorites now. For now, Nahida is still my number 1 but Furina is very close behind.

Ngl, it was a little disappointing that Fontaine only seems to have 3 hydro characters so far (Neuvillette, Furina, and Sigewinne, since we see her vision during the archon quest). I was really expecting more since it's the nation of hydro after all. But I can't wait for Neuvillette's rerun in a couple days.

The Fontaine story is by far the best writing in Genshin so far and only surpassed by some of the best things in Honkai 3rd. Definitely come back and enjoy it.
