I think this conversation would have been perfect with an Architect , and Consctruction Engineer it is not the kind of talk young students are given to see everyday very rare in deed. Appreciate that ou guys using your time to helpyoung generation take the best path for their carreer.

Enjoyed this episode. Great piece of advices from Mat on sticking to the fundamentals rather than jumping to software blindly otherwise it would be "Garbage In Garbage Out" type of situation which is dangerous in any project. I also strongly believe good communications is key to a successful career. cheers

I love meeting "engineers" when they come armed with only their book. Poor devils don't have a clue. Anyone seriously contemplating Geotechnical anything...you NEED to spend a year in a soil testing laboratory. Without the ability to judge soil properties you have the potential to over design something to cover your inexperience at your client's expense. I'm handing you pearls here. As a Geotechnical Consultant with 35+ years soil testing experience, I know what I'm talking about.

I’m looking for a job with only a bachelors. Is geotech as competitive and hardcore as structural
@franklee38002 жыл бұрын
@@Libtardo123 yes. Very competitive.

@@franklee3800 do you think it is realistic to get a job in structural/geotech, work a few years, get a PE, and then get the company to pay for you to do a masters?
