Welcome to Gerakas Beach, which is considered one of the most attractive beaches on the island of Zakynthos. Because of the wonderful view and the unusual landscape, this beach has unique unspoilt features. It is located 18 km south of the capital and offers shelter for the endangered Caretta-Caretta sea turtle.
The sandy beach of Gerakas is very popular for swimming and sunbathing. It is actually a large bay with crystalline waters and golden sand. Some rock formations are scattered along the seashore, offering a sense of protection and isolation. Gerakas Beach is one of the best examples of the enchanting landscape and natural beauty that characterizes the island of Zakynthos. There is a free parking lot above the beach and next to it there is an exhibition of exhibits about the life of turtles.
