A bare-bones plot about being helplessly stuck in a place- characteristic of Stephen King. Reminds me of his 'Misery'. Brilliant. Simplicity still works well in fiction!

If you're referring to the film, it's not his creation. King didn't even write the screenplay. It's based on his book sure but I wouldn't consider films he had no real part in "his creations". Plus, usually when King is involved in the film (whether as a screenwriter or director), it's usually garbage. Finally, I though It was alright but it's not in my top 5 adaptations and I find it almost insulting that people wouldn't put The Shining as number 1.

Gerald's Game is considered a part of what is called "King's Abused Wives/Daughter Trilogy". The other two in the series are "Delores Claiborne" AWESOME book and movie adaptation and "Rose Madder". Rose Madder was okay. I dont think they've done a film adaptation of it yet. It's in production last I heard.

ok for her situation to be inescapable she would need to shackled by the legs too, she could quite easily break those wooden bed pillars by pushing on them with her legs even if they were really sturdy which ruins the film.
