@@MultiLetz alchemy is actually an exploit. You put everything there and then just add enough points for Rend and you're good to go.

That's only apply with the newer game (Witcher 3). In olden games like Witcher 1 and 2, potions duration can be very long like 8 hours to 30 minutes. Honestly you can't measure stuff in just witcher 3, it's designed to be arcade for gameplay purpose.

Yeah in the books it can take a minute for the effects to kick in and last much longer. Like when Geralt saves Foltest's daughter, he drinks a Cat potion and waits in the square for it to kick in as it turns to night But it would really slow down gameplay to wait for 5-10 minutes just for a potion to kick in, and the way the Witcher 3 is designed, having potions work for that long would massively throw off the balance of the game

@@Bocchi-the-Rock_ Massively throw off the balance of the game? I doubt that severely. I have played with mods that added that and tbh they are not that. Most potions would need to be crafted using the system that existed in previous two games. Instead of just posessing 1! Alcohest to refill the entire inventory. It's just CDPR that had been going out of pattern from the third game. I don't see anything that will shake the balance.

@@Bocchi-the-Rock_ frankly, I use mod that greatly increase potion longevity, as few minutes or seconds was less than many fights. Made no sense. And now I even use mod that more-or-less remove crafting of the potions once you make them for the 1st time, as there are many so fights that otherwise I'd not be using potions at all "because you don't waste them when you do not know about next monster you are going to meet" effect. Now I simply use them when I see a reason to do so - which I find pretty lore-friendly

@@raven4k998 In W3, yeah. Maxing out your toxicity puts a 0.5% per second dot on you basically the games way of telling you to remove one of your pots with white honey or eventually die.

Silly Witcher. Tawny Owl + Petri's Philter are all you need. With that, Quen will protect you from everything and Igni will kill almost everything. A good Silver Sword will take care of the rest.

The writing...no. You could slip some more fun frazes like: "I can stop anytime i want", "-What is this? I don't know but let's see what it does", "This one is on you", "ups I've drunk the one that clears all the effects, got to go all way again". Add some side effects with behavior, and lot of empty bottles besides them. So no writing is not perfect... Rest is pretty damn good.

pretty sure this is a joke but just clarifying that black blood is for vampiric opponents who do the fang to neck thing and start sucking blood. Blood loss is a different conditiong that just results in damage over time.

@@tentaklaus9382 In the games, at least the first and second one, I have only recently started the third one so can have no opinion, being bitten by a monster just counted as one huge attack that took about 60% health all at once. I guess in lore increased bleed resistance is an increase in the effect of coagulation agents, which would make blood clot more easily in response to open air

Man, I don’t know which was funnier: Geralt’s ever-worsening potion-face (mad props to the makeup team!), or Dandelion’s quippy dialogue & line delivery! (mad props to Alan!) Oh, and his facial expressions were glorious! That charming bit of banter about Dandelion composing a song was the best! And really added another layer of genuine depth to their friendship. Not to leave Rowan out of the praise, because his Geralt is brilliant! He’s so great at the combo of arrogant, self-confident Witcher & kinda dude-bro, goofball player. The attention to detail on the potion bottles & colors was brilliant! I’ll have to rewatch (again) on a larger screen and do some frame advancing to see if the labels are more visible. Because I 100% guarantee they’re all appropriately labeled! I am loving this series! And I hope we don’t have too long a wait for season 2!! ❤️💙

I don't think many people properly use potions and oils. But in Death March difficulty they are essential, especially with scaling monsters.

They did make a video kinda similar to that, where the Witcher type guy drink a lot and potions and uses lots of oils, and then Adam (I think it was Adam) comes running in without any preparation and kills the beast in a few strikes :')

liquid can be soaked not only by mouth and stomach. All you need is to get it inside..

@@lunotarr emptying a potion vial into his mouth might still be the best option though... not only is that pathway optimized for liquid intake, but also you may not want to get into longer contact with his body to e.g. rub it in or inject it into his veins or whatever, with all the potion effects he currently has and such. Don't want a drop of poisoned blood to come out and kill you in the process, after all.
