Thank you very much! I am also quite proud of it 😁 Are the legs of your platforms from round rods or from square? With round ones they find fewer points of contact to chew :) if that also does not help you can buy aluminum tubes at the hardware store and put the legs in there. Then nothing more can be chewed away 😁. I have always been lucky not to have too gnawing gerbils, they chew mainly on cardboard and not often on the furniture 😊

@@LittleButterfly234 yes, they are the square legs! I found it hard to find any suitable wood, that was the right size and wouldn’t be harmful. I’ve got plenty spare though, so I’ll just have to replace them! They do love nice, chunky cardboard as well though.

Thank you very much! 😊 I will try to film while cleaning next time, but I only clean it once in like 5 months and it takes up to 2 hours! 😵‍💫 I use a bucket to dig the bedding out. Taking it to the trashcan is unfortunately no option with this big cage. And my living room is a complete mess while and after the cleaning xD

Thank you! I bought it and it was custom made by an german cage builder (nagerterra.de). But I made the Plattforms by myself. But it is not too difficult to build an enclosure yourself. If it does not have to be a terrarium, you can screw together 3 wooden boards, 4 wooden strips with a plexiglass plate inside and for the lid also from wooden strips and lattice. Finally, protect the corners (with me that was solved with aluminum strips) and ready 😊 An even simpler option is to use an old aquarium as a base and build a structure of lattice and wood on top. There are many possibilities :) My terrarium was unfortunately very expensive (450€). But I wanted it absolutely because it's extremely pretty and i'm just totally bad at building stuff! 😅

@@LittleButterfly234 You have a good point. I've been wandering around the internet the last few days getting ideas and where to get just enough quality and safe materials to do my build. Been doodling build ideas ^_^

@@Emmaleesa4 Thank you very much! I also wondered. The measurements of my enclosure are much larger than the minimum and recommended in Germany, and there are almost the strictest animal welfare laws. I do not know many with a larger enclosure, even more so in countries like America. Therefore, I would also be very interested in what the person recommends for sizes. I also hope that they feel comfortable! :)

@@LittleButterfly234 it's a god cage. Some people just like to troll or make the others know "they're better". That's a toxic behavior, honestly. And since she "doesn't care", why commenting? Personally, i think it's one of the best i cages i have seen. Don't worry, really. They have tons of bedding and space outside.

This person probably doesn't even own gerbils. They just wanted to be rude. To my understanding, a gerbil pair actually requires less space than hamsters since they are not a nomadic species, and this enclosure would be considered plenty even for a picky female syrian hamster.
