39: This is the recording of my talk for AXPO talent days on September 6, 2022, in Baden, Switzerland. #futurist #transformation
Some of the key messages:
The purpose of looking at the future is not prediction - it's to be better prepared. You need to get to the future ahead of your customers,
and be ready to greet them when they arrive (Mark Benioff). The next 10 years will bring more change then the previous 100 years. We should be optimistic not because our problems are smaller than we thought, but because our capacity to solve them is larger than we thought (via Kevin Kelly). Yet... technology alone will not save us. One hug is worth a thousand zoom calls. Anything that can be digitized, automated or virtualised, will be: The END OF ROUTINE is near... yet: anything that cannot be digitized or automated will become much more valuable.
00:00 - Introduction: Looking the future?
00:47 - The idea is to be be better prepared (not to predict)
07:23 - The Future is better than we think
10:35 - The game-changers: big data, cloud computing, IoT, quantum computing, AI
17:55 - Business as usual is dead - or dying
23:44 - Green is the new digital!
31:25 - The #metaverse or the metaPERverse?
36:14 - Compassion, understanding imagination, mystery, values: Androrithms!
40:08 - If you work like a robot, a robot will take your job.
43:35 - The 3 tickets to the future: #digitization #decarbonization reformation
“Imagining the future may be more important than analyzing the past. Companies today are no longer resource-bound, they are IMAGINATION-BOUND" C.K. Prahalad

Futurism is a product that must appeal to corporate and government buyers to be economically viable as a business. The majority of people believe these interests are decreasingly aligned with what creates meaning for humanity. It would better if futurism was aligned to presenting alternatives for creating more meaning for humanity. Alas who will pay. The future is destined to be a dystopian technocracy for humanity and it will be increasingly meaningless. At least in the forseeable future.

you make a very good point, this is why I do many engagements for non-corporates for a very low fee, or free. and also, I do think that quite a few times my corporate clients hear things from me they would never otherwise want to listen to.))

@@GerdLeonhard Educators should not be speaking of climate change as if it's fact. Educators need to stop the liberal doom and gloom the world is going away. Predicting the end of earths rain forests in the 70s, saying the ozone would be gone in the 20 years and now climate change. It's nonsense. It's not science. People like you need to stop talking. your ideas should be dismissed
