Hi friends of fingerstyle guitar music,
this is my transcription of the famous and really beautiful piano piece "June" Barcarolle, or also alled "June" from 'The Seasons', Op.37a No.6, by Pyotr Tchaikovsky. Tchaikovsky hat a contract with an editor of a monthly
music magazine, to write 12 short piano pieces, one for each month of the year. That´s why this piece got it´s name "June".
I first heard this piano piece in a french movie - and the beauty of its seemingly simple melody combined with complex harmonies got inte my mind at once. I searched the web and found the piano score, but it took a couple of years to start my own transcription for solo guitar. The piano piece has a special part in middle - all in contrast to the first part. I almost had finished also this second part, but decided to conentrate only on the first on because of its special mood.

Hallo Detlef - vielen Dank ... und schön wieder von Dir zu hören... ja, die Ausarbeitung meiner Transkription war viel Arbeit da harmonisch viele kleine Details drin stecken, die aber den Reiz des Stückes erst ausmachen.... Viele Grüße - Gerhard

eine schöne Melodie, und in 100 Jahren wird es schön bleiben. Es ist schade, dass nur sehr wenige Menschen eine so würdige Aufführung hören.

Hi Максим, ja, es ist eine wunderschöne Komposition von Tchaikovsky - und vielleicht hilft meine Bearbeitung für Gitarre, dass ein paar mehr Menschen dieses wunderschöne Stück kennen und vielleicht auch selbst zu spielen lernen.... Viele Grüße - Gerhard

Beautifully played arrangement! Coincidentally, I just researched heavily about Tchaikovsky and just started arranging my own version for guitar of his symphony no 6, this came at the perfect time for me to enjoy :) Again, awesome work in playing this, it sounds really good! 🎶

Hi Rogelio, I am just listening to this symphony..... and puh.... for first listening to it, it seems to be ultra complex for a solo guitar version..... I am happy that "June" is just a relatively short piano piece.... ;-)))) greetings from Germany - Gerhard

Orchestral things are always a big challange.... I did Smetana´s Die Moldau and Bach´s Jesus, joy of men´s desire.... but that are clear structured pieces and so it worked quite well to transfer that to a solo guitar transcription..... greetings from Germany to North America - Gerhard

Thanks a lot Aleksa, the guitar is a Albert & Müller C2.... Since Mr. Albert died some years ago, Mr. Antonius Müller still works as a luthier nearby Frankfurt, completely focussed on very fine classical guitars ... (highly recommended !!) greetings from Germany - Gerhard
