German for travelers! Lars teaches you key words and phrases in German.
Please note: These are just basics for people who would like to know a few words and phrases while traveling. They are broken down into their simplest forms for quick learning. There are some things that are complex and take longer to learn, so please just take this for what it is - quick traveler lingo! Happy travels!
We also filmed a video about German culture! • GERMAN CULTURE // Lars...

This is great and I should have started my lessons here, but I found that in Germany they are a bit more casual, like the way they just say 'danka' rather than 'danka schön', and 'bitte' rather than 'bitte schön'. I also rarely heard 'entscholdigen' and never heard 'entscholdigen sie'. I used 'entscholdigen' and said it all the time. I guess I was raised to be polite no matter who I'm talking to.

For German speakers: what is the etiquette around “Danke” and “Danke Schön”? I’ve always took it as it being the equivalent of “Thanks” and “Thank you very much” Is “Danke” potentially rude in certain situations; I.e. not polite/formal enough, and is “Danke Schön” too formal in certain situations?
