Hey thanks for reacting to my video! And thank you especially for linking to my original version in the description. Not every React-Channel manages to do that. ;) I like that you ended the video by saying that it's the same sh1t in every country, and that German politics don't seem so different from American ones afterall! Cause you're right! Politics rhyme all over the world, since humans are pretty much the same all over. They want a stable income, good education, a safe environment. So the ideologies that pop up are all concerned with those same problems. The key difference however are the structures we build to deliver on those promises. Those ARE remarkably different and can yield very different results.

You need to update a few things^^ For example that Die Linke is not a proper party anymore.
@LucasBenderChannel
@LucasBenderChannel Ай бұрын
It absolutely is a proper party still! :) It merely lost the status "Fraktion" in parliament and turned into a "Gruppe", which is a whole diferent thing, that only refers to the number of seats. But they're still a party.

For the European election there were about 35 parties on the voting paper, it was like a meter long and I still didn't Found a party I felt seen in

The good thing about more options is even when a party is elected that has (in your opinion) a to Radical view, for example, to much taxes or to much money for cars and to less for trains, they can never get a majority by there own. So they always need a partner and this will soften the edges on there policy. That's why Germany has such a stable government for decades now.

The big problem with the FDP is that they have a finance minister who still sticks to the debt brake, contrary to all current expert opinion.

To make it short, he is right 😉 there are some details, but over all it's correct. In my personel opinion it is more positive to have more than just two parties. At first it's easier to find a partie that stands for the most of your opinion. And second you can tell those who are in power what you think about their politics by voting an other partie.

Lollipop! Every shirt belongs to the official color of the party!! In US there are 2 parties, one center right (like our CDU) and one extreme right (like the AFD). I think you know what i mean. A third party is needed in US (you have to deal with compromises)

In the last federal election, 53 parties were allowed to run. Anyone can found a party in Germany, that is part of our constitution. You just have to get a few people together and sign a founding contract - to put it simply. This means that in addition to the large, established parties that receive over 5% of all votes cast and are represented in the Bundestag, our parliament, there are many small parties that are grouped together under "Others" in the election results. These include parties with the names: Garden Party, LOVE, Animal Protection Alliance, PIRATES, and Grey Panthers. The program cannot always be deduced from the names. 😂

Afaik, there are also more than the two major parties in the US, but they just don't get elected (enough). Please do correct me, if I'm wrong.

SPD: has also a "right wing", which means in this case social-liberal and business-friendly with some borrowing from neoliberal ideologies as well as "law and order" attitude. CDU: has also many Muslim members. Currently led by neoliberal ideologists, who are however not unchallenged from within the party. FDP: No to your question at 5:47. During the reign of coalitions with FDP participation bureaucracy is generally rather increasing and measures to secure competition are somewhat dismantled. They do however implement steps to lower taxes - but only for the richest third. Greens: 7:54 The beardy one is Walter Schwenninger, a secondary school teacher from Tübingen; he died in 2010. The Greens were on the rise until they entered in 2021 a triangle coalition with the SPD and FDP (Federal government); since then they suffered heavily regarding votes, like the other coalition partners also. This coalition is deeply divided and impeded by the ideological austerity politics of the FDP. Die Linke: The PDS merged in 2007 with the WASG to become "The Left". The WASG was a secession from the SPD after the social reforms by the SPD & Greens coalition (Federal government 1998 - 2005), consisting of some left-wing former SPD members as well as trade union officials and some other groups. Since then "Die Linke" could also gain some seats in western state parliaments, but had always to struggle to get enough votes for the federal parliament. In 2024 the BSW (Alliance Sahra Wagenknecht) seceded from Die Linke; Sahra Wagenknecht grew up in the former GDR, became in 1989 a member of the SED, in 1991 presidium member of the PDS, 2007-2014 presidium member of Die Linke. Her political position was mostly a conservative socialist one; the BSW is a populist party mixing leftist ideas with e.g. anti-migration issues, and overtook Die Linke regarding votes in the 2004 election for the EU parliament. Sarah Wagenknecht and her followers were those in Die Linke who propagated the pro-Putin stand, while Die Linke now changed to a more critical position regarding Putin. Die Linke lost however its position as regional representatives of East Germany to the AfD and now also to the BSW. The AfD got the biggest share of votes of all parties in the 2024 EU election in the states of Thuringia, Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt (all former East Germany), still no majority, but 30 to 32% of all votes, while the CDU at second place got around 22% and the BSW between 13 and 15%. Parts of the CDU now debate if to make coalition offers to the BSW in Brandenburg, Thuringia and Saxony where state elections will take place in September.

Phobia is Greek and means an irrational fear of something and is usually used at the end of a word, e.g. arachnophobia, fear of spiders. The Greek word for hate or contempt is "mis(o)", e.g. not liking women is "misogyny", not liking men is "misandry". Trans or homophobia are misnomers.

None of the major parties will ever do a coalition with the AFD, but with the recent split up of the Die Linke party, it may be possible for the AFD to find a coalition partner: BSW. The video is quite old...
