Sup yall! Thanks for your patience with this video. This informative video about Germany has been requested after my reaction on World War 2 The Fallen. It was my first time checking out this channel, and I really enjoyed the host and learning so much more information on Germany.
I can't wait to be able to travel again so that I will be able to continue my European visits, and hopefully visit Germany again and live out more of its abounding culture and enjoy its pretty sights.
PS: STAY TUNED FOR THE NEXT REACTION! ;)
I would like to thank each and everyone of my subscribers thus far, and I hope we grow together! :D

@@IntricatelyRandomAsian It's not only "One of the most successful gummybear brands", hans Riegel invented the Gummybear. Wikipedia: The gummy bear originated in Germany, where it is popular under the name Gummibär (gum or gummy bear), or in the endearing form Gummibärchen ([little] gum or gummy bear). Gum arabic was the original base ingredient used to produce the gummy bears, hence the name gum or gummy. Hans Riegel Sr., a confectioner from Bonn, started the Haribo company in 1920. In 1922, inspired by the trained bears seen at street festivities and markets in Europe through to the 19th century, he invented the Dancing Bear (Tanzbär), a small, affordable, fruit-flavored gum candy treat for children and adults alike, which was much larger in form than its later successor, the Gold-Bear (Goldbär).[1] Even during Weimar Germany's hyperinflation period that wreaked havoc on the country, Haribo's fruit-gum Dancing Bear treats remained affordably priced for a mere one pfennig per pair at kiosks.[1] The success of the Dancing Bear's successor would later become Haribo's world-famous Gold-Bears candy product in 1967.[1]

EDM Music started to become in Europe with Kraftwerk (from Düsseldorf) a worldwide known (1970s) band ("Wir sind die Roboter" was revolutionary in sound back then), Scooter, Sven Väth and many more German Rave and Technoartists dominated the European and international szene. But Germany alone is not synonymous with EDM, all of Europe is, esp. The netherlands, germany and britain.

We do not have bears here. But we have wolfes. They do not live in the black forest but mostly in eastern Germany. And we have lynxes. Maybe they live in the Black forest. But they definately live in the Bavarian Forest. We also have seals and porpoises at the northern sea. I don't think you can still see the divide of Berlin. Cuckoo clocks are not from Bavaria but from the Black Forest in Baden-Württemberg.

The super long word means "Regulation on how to assign the task to label beef". It is a law that was enacted in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern from 1995 until 2013. It is one of the longest words in German. Especially in legal documents, there is a tendency to use long words and convoluted speech. :)

15:41 No, cuckoo clocks are not from there, one of many little details he got wrong in this video (like "Wierschaftswunder" -> Wirtschaftswunder or Sauerbraten being pork when it's in fact originally horsemeat and nowadays beef). Cuckoo clocks are from the Black Forest (Schwarzwald) but as they are a so beloved throughout Germany and especially around the world as souvenir you will find them in every tourist store in Bavaria.

Lots of People, especially from NA, seem to be surprised that germany "also" has the eagle as a national Animal, but it´s actually a different one, ours is the Golden Eagle, while America´s is the Bald Eagle. Prussia, the "Proto-German" Nation had a double headed Golden Eagle. Btw i am not mad about you not liking seeds in/on bread, i don´t particularly like it either, BUT you HAVE TO try the bread in germany properly, not all kinds are equally good, but some just have the most delicious crust with perfect crunch and everything. The kind of delicious that, when you find the right one and get it fresh from the bakery, you will need no more than a bit of butter to really enjoy it.

We have a lot of humour. We have a lot of comedians like Kaya Yanar, Atze Schröder, Chris Tall, Paul Panzer, Tahnee, Maxi Stettenbauer, and many other artists. It's just that not many German comedians are known worldwide. We also have a lot of inside jokes that other people don't understand. Look at James Bray, Who is Mert?, these are two English-language channels that get to know German culture and also react to funny videos.

I really enjoyed your reaction. If you need more inspiration for learning german or to visit the country - there is a 13 Minutes clip of some highlights in due to Landscape, landmarks and beautiful cities: "this is germany" I think from the channel "Ludwig History". As a German I can say yes we may be offended eating bread the way you did, perhaps try a original Brezen (pretzel) and work your way up to some other types of bread - there are so many really good ones. You can always find local bakeries all over Germany and when you are in one ask the local people, what is good and perhaps not to adventures. I don't know if EDM is originated in Germany, but in the early 90s german rave and techno scene was allready huge here and big events like "MayDay" and the "loveparade" attracted millions of people every year until the early 2000s. One of the first milestone-bands for electronic music was the band "Kraftwerk" ... And if you don't like beer, don't drink beer only because you are in Germany - our beer may taste a little better but not that much. I would recommend to try one of the really good german wines (or some "Federweißer" in fall) and perhaps local fruitjuice brands (with no sugar addited).

Just to add to the no flag waving thing, it's less about the German flag in particular and more about any kind of national flag waving in certain (most) settings. We had a short period where that was done a lot and now that's what we think of when we see it today. The concept of national pride is also not seen positively in Germany, for similar reasons. The word pride also has more negative connotations in German (almost a bit like hubris). So compared to someone from another country, we might well feel the same thing but label it differently.

German guy speaking here: Your german pronounciation of Trier is rather good! About humour: the German sense of humour is one of its own kind, and most non-Germans do not get it. That is where the rumour comes from we Germans did not have humour. About the national animal: it is actually a sea eagle. But your pronounciation of Porsche sucks. The e at the end is NOT SILENT!ask Google translator for propper pronounciation. About the former German Democratics Republic (East Germany under Soviet leadership): the number of atheists in percent is much larger here than in the west. And since 2022 for the first time in hostory of Germany the percentage of christians throughout the country has decreased to under 50 % with the number of atheists increasing. About the memorial culture (about WW2): I truly hate it! I was born in 1985. My parents were born in the mid to late 50s. What do my parents have to do with WW2? What do I have to do with WW2??? I am so fucking sick and tired of being held responsible for something that I did not committ!!!! Oh, btw: by international law it is illegal to make somebody responsible for the crimes of somebody else. So to everybody who still says "You Germans did...." etc.: this is for you: FUCK YOU!!!! Many girls don't like beer, but many like German Kirsch(cherry) beer. But Kriek(cherry) lambic(beer) from Belgium is more often sold in stores❤Frisians(Frysk) are residents of the North Sea coast. Their language is closer to English than to Dutch. 400 thousand Frisians live in the Netherlands., and in Germany only about 20 thousand. Not far from the Netherlands, there are 3 thousand Friezes in the city of Zaterland. Not far from Denmark, there are 16 thousand Friezes on the North Frisian Islands and even less than 1 thousand Friezes on the island of Heligoland, which the Germans received in exchange with Britain in exchange for the island of Zanzibar in Africa. P.S. When 200-300 years ago there was a famine in the German states, many Germans left for the Russian Empire. Most Germans in Russia lived in the Volga region, the Baltic territories and Poland. Mom's friend is 100% German. The ancestors of her mom and dad are from Swabia (the southern states of Germany west of Bavaria), who have lived in Russia for at least 200 years. In 1907, there were 1,212 Germans in my city in the south of Russia, and around my city there were several dozen Lutheran German villages and 2 Catholic German villages. In total, according to the population census of 1897, there were 1,790,489 Germans in the Russian Empire. After the revolution in the Volga region of Russia, German peasants intoxicated by communism Marx and Engels created German autonomy in the USSR, but in WW2 all their Germans were deported to Siberia and Central Asia. Now there are 394,138 Germans in Russia, but many Germans who have converted to Orthodox Christianity consider themselves already Russians.

@Balleehuuu
@Balleehuuu 2 жыл бұрын
You are right that "pfiat di" oder "pfiat euch" is not really used with God anymore, though it originated that way. And the thing with Adjus is one of the little mixed up things in this video (there are some more), I think it refers to the french term "Adieu" which is used quite regularly in the regions in the south bodering France.

@@IntricatelyRandomAsian no the Lederhosen are not only a stereotype and some do own them, but you won't find them for regular occasions, but it really fits in to the southern region of bavaria during summer and espacially for "Oktoberfest" or traditional event like that.

What? You think Porsche is a italian brand 😂 oh no. Ask dr. GOOGLE. But for example some other Car brands are german daughter Companies how Lamborghini is by VW. Some other brands do you use maybe wrong look in the channel by Feli from Germany or Easy German. And by DW Programm Meet the germans.
