After winning world cup in 1990, Germany hadn't changed nor accepted many younger players, so basically, most German players were either too old or over the heel. They're one of the oldest team during 1994. Personally, I'd like to see West Germany v UAE in 1990 world cup match.

1998 is much worse. In euro 1992, they went to final. In euro 1992, they are the winner. 1998 - 2000 were the worst time. But they still managed to went into the final of 2002 world cup.

@@Rudyalfons100 by 2002 nearly all of the 90s stars retired, Ballack, Scholl, Ziege and many others were not around in 1990s, so they finally opened space for younger players by then.

@@BondNbgd Scholl and Ziege were the main squad of the German team in Euro 1996 (they won the 96 European Cup).

@@jesusgarrido7466🙋🏻‍♂️ Er wäre absolut der bessere Torhüter gewesen, aber Illgner bekam trotzdem den Vorzug! Das Problem war, daß Köpke's Club 1.FC Nürnberg kurz zuvor (Saison 93/94) abgestiegen war und Coach Berti Vogts einen "Absteiger" zur Nummer 1 hätte benennen müssen! 😪

Lots of the Players were past their prime. So the start into the WM 94 was laboriously. But they were still good for some special moments. So as schown by Völler and Klinsmann in the Belgium match. The 94 Team was on the run in the finals but looses unlucky vs Bulgaria. Euro 92 they might have won if Matthäus wasn‘t injured. Euro 96 was a lucky punch imho with great defense. But after Euro 92 there was a visble Downsize till Euro 04. Even the WM 2002 was a mixture of luck playing against not the best teams with a team of Players performing over their common levels except Oliver Kahn and Ballack.

Deutschland hatte aber 1996 schon ein gutes Team und bestand die schwere Gruppe gegen Italien, Tschechien und Russland mit Bravour! 👍

Luckily the decided to change that after their failure in 2004 and bring many young and talented players and as a result making the national team faster and more attractive. That decision paid off in 2006 when they were arguably way better than 1998 and 2002 and continued that approach till they reached to a world cup triumph some years later

Con el pedazo Mundial que hizo Goikoechea, cuesta entender como Cruyff se lo quitase de encima ese mismo verano. Despedimos a Salinas, Txiqui, Zubi, Goiko y Laudrup, para fichar jugadores mediocres, salvo Abelardo (y para colmo, a media temporada le permitimos marchar a Romario)

Beguiristain siguió en el equipo. Abelardo fue un gran fichaje, y también el de Hagi. Eskurza era un gran jugador pero tuvo mala suerte con las lesiones. La mayor decepción fue Lopetegui, que pasó de ser uno de los mejores porteros españoles del momento a tal vez el peor portero de la historia del Barça.
