1:15 these are "Schießscharten". Also seen in british castles and spanish and so on. in any european or better to say in any medieval castle on the old world :). because it was a tactic of the medieval time. they were able to shoot arrows trough those holes with crossbows and bows with a tiny risk of getting hit back.

the first pictures i see look pretty bavarian. whole germany is so strongly various :). you have to visit the Schwarzwald or the Spreewald, also the north of germany is completely its own adventure. and you can also see many beautiful things in my state, saxony. Like the Elbsandsteingebirge :)

Northern Germany is next on our list! We could only hit so much in this first visit. There really is so much to see and do in Germany!! We love it there.
