Not so much when you cut it at the right stage. Must be cut before grain is ripe. Can be squashed between your fingers. Very little loss then. Works quite well

chris trewin Sown in early may. Barley sown at around 6 stone per acre. That rate allows the grass get established. It's great feed. We usually feed it to our wealings. It saves mealing them and the young grass is top Quality.
