Gerstner Tool Chest plus new Dovetail Endmill
Amateur video work and amateur hobby machinist. Videos of me working on various projects in the workshop and around the home. Work using my Vevor MX400 Mini Lathe and Precision Matthews PM-25MV Benchtop Milling Machine.

Thansk, I was pretty excited when I saw the Gerstner stam on the bottom in the antique shop. It was pretty cheap considering as well. Cool to have one in my little shop and my endmills and other cutters fit great in there.

Nice toolbox. Now you need to get an appropriate edition of Machinerys Handbook to fit in the middle drawer. I think you need an R8 rack to hold all your R8 collets and tooling, and an MT3 rack to hold all your lathe tailstock stuff. They take up lots of inefficient space in toolbox drawers.

I do. It’s on my list. Haven’t picked one up yet but finding one old enough to fit in that drawer may be tricky. lol. Oh I do have an R8 rack under my dro but an MT2 and Collet rack would be great for those lathe tools. I’ve seen collet racks before. You are right most of my drawer spaces is consumed by those tools.

Hey Deez, not sure if you figured it out yet but Gerstner made that weird center drawer with the metal tray specifically to hold the Machinery's Handbook. The problem now is over the years the handbook got a lot thicker, so it no longer fits the drawer.

Yeah I figured that out now but it would be awesome to put a machineries handbook there. I still have yet to pick up one. Someday I’ll get one.

As near as I can tell this is one of their most common models and have been made for decades. They did start making this same model with 10 drawers after the 80's I think. slight design chagne, I believe this chest to have been made in the 70's or prior. I enjoy having it on the workbench.

Gerstner.... mmmm, That's almost as much as the mill. As was said the machinists handbook fit in the middle drawer.

It would be if I bought it new. Pretty excited to find this in a local antique shop. Glad to use it as intended as well. I’d love a machinery’s handbook but still haven’t grabbed one. Doubt the latest edition will fit In That middle drawer.

@@TheMiniMachineShop Wow, I didnt realize that book grew that much over the years, I do know the book has pretty much anything and everything you could need to reference.
