Currently there are just a few Cameras that have a reliable Autofocus system, but that only works with modern photo lenses.
But there is a solution to get a super autofocus on any camera with every lens - LIDAR AF.

Great review! What really interests me is having a battery operated follow focus! (For whatever reason, I hate cables lol). So having a unit that doesn’t need a seperate power source is awesome, I’ll have to check this out for myself. Thanks for the vid!

Hi Paul Coole Videos! Ich hätte eine Frage die mir PD Movie nicht wirklich beantworten konnte. Was passiert wenn man während der AF an ist mit dem Wheel eingreifen will um den Focus zu ändern? Ist das möglich oder geht nur rein Manuel oder rein AF.

Gute Erläuterung, danke für das Video. Ich überlege mittlerweile seit fast einem halben Jahr mir es für mein Canon EOS M Rig mit Magic Lantern RAW (Crop mood) zu holen, da beim fortlaufenden aufnehmen, bei Bewegung es schwer ist, das Bild immer in Fokus zu halten.. die Sache ist, das ich bei vielen Objektiven eine variable Brennweite habe.

Danke fürs zuschauen. Ja mit einer variablen Brennweite ist das natürlich schwierig. Das funktioniert nur mit Zoom objektiven die Parfokal sind

how its works with zoom lens like a sigma 18-35? when you colabr.. on wide 18mm and do it zoom to 35mm do you need colabrt. again or its will be works?

Hello, thanks for watching :) so is the zoom Lens is parfocal then you just need to calibrate it for one focal length and you’re good to go. If not you need to do it for every focal length in the range of your lens. But I’ve seen that it works just with one calibration on the sigma.

Does autofocus work only in the center or at the side points too? If yes, how to choose them? What is the autofocus area?

It is mostly in the Center so the direction the sensor is pointing to.

You’re welcome. Unfortunately you can’t see what the AF area is. But from my experience it’s not too narrow so even if you’re a little away from the middle it works fine

You can switch it to manual focus and set infinity at any time if needed.

No I didn’t but it should work since it’s not different mechanically to a spherical lens

I’m not sure if there is already a distributor for Norway. There are a little slow to bring it in to the European market. If you can’t find it online in Norway I would reach out to pdmovie and ask.

Thanks for watching. You can adjust it for photo lenses manually. So it can be used with every lens

This, from PDMovie when I emailed… If the lens itself has no hard stop limit and no depth-of-field scale frame, I am sorry that the autofocus function cannot be compatible with this type of lens. Best regards Jacob
