kinda funny seeing him in a casual setting on a casual rink and seeing the trapezoid behind him. just imagine walking into any rink in the world and realizing thats there because of you

He was the only guy to beat the Kings twice and took them to OT twice as well. Two well placed shots could have made them champs. This is all in the twilight of his career too. Overall he certainly is. If you're talking current skill level that's just foolish at best. That's like judging Ali on his career by his last few fights. Difference is Marty's still competitive enough after about 20 years to carry his team come playoff time.
@CC25Y12 жыл бұрын
heck yeah, I LOVE YOU MARTY! I don't care, I'm straight but I'm man enough to say I love you marty! He's like my all time favorite player in hockey and one of my all time top 5 favorite athletes in all sports combined. I became a hockey and devils fan because of Martin Brodeur! Honestly if I was to learn to how to be a goalie there are only 4 goalies I would listen to, Marty, Patrick Roy, Henrik Lundqvist and Ryan Miller, but mostly I'd be paying more attention to what Marty is saying or doing!
@MadMader6911 жыл бұрын
i agree with you on his style suits him, and most goalies have small things that work better for them than others, but when you say he isnt as good and he was, thats were your wrong look up the stats right now and tell him if he isnt as good

why dont u butterfly slide across the crease if its passed along the blue line for a one timer..
@Noraa66612 жыл бұрын
He is in the Eastern conferance finals you know........also disputed to be the best goalie that ever lived. Just saying.
@RG32hockey12 жыл бұрын
actually these days, most butterfly goalies butterfly slide one way to get there and they're good enough that if the puck is deflected or the guy passes the other way, they can just lift the leg thats sliding, stop and slide back an other way very easy. As a goalie i use that method, but for brodeur whose a stand up goalie that would be a bad way to do it since he's clearly not as confortable in the butterfly
@Racetothetop11 жыл бұрын
Most people would tend to disagree, largely due to the fact that Brodeur has played more, won more, and shut out more. And three cup rings is a hell of a lot better than the average man.
@SteveO188712 жыл бұрын
Stop hating because he's better and had a much better career then whatever goalie for whatever team you like

@RG32hockey12 жыл бұрын
Well it depens because you have goalies like jonathan quick, who do use that butterfly slide. I myself find it easier to do a big butterfly slide instead of a big T-push. Another butterfly goalie like Price will use a t push because he covers it faster being 6"3-6"4 compared to Quick being 6"0. I'm 5"101/2 so using the butterfly slide to get to the top of my crease is simpler for me then to do a tpush. but if im at the top right of the crease and wanna go to top left, of course ill use tpush.

Oh, I don't hate. I just look at ALL the facts. Those facts are Brodeur has played for the best defensive team.

If Marty is not good enougn for showing us some goaltending drill, who can ? I think he is one of the greatest to ever hit the ice. And if modern technic is the only thing that please you, i will go see some Hasek goaltending, so i would have seen the two best goaltender of the NHL history showing their ability. Goaltending is not about technic, it's about keeping the puck the other side of the redline, if this is done, who care how it is done.

The last two season Brodeurs backup Hedberg played as many games against the top 1/3 of teams in the league as he did against the bottom 1/3 of teams. And, he did better than Brodeur did against the top teams the last two seasons. Know your facts before you start insulting people.

He hasn't even been the best goalie on his team the last 4 seasons. Go ahead. Look at the Devil's goalie stats the last 4 years and see how the backup had better stats. How did that happen if Brodeur is so great?
